.: 1, 2, 3..:.

198 3 2

Numbers are easy once you get it. The kanji is easy to remember as well because they are very simple

Let's get started!

Did you notice that 4 and 7 have 2 ways to say it? It is because they change after ten so they change to the second pronounciation. Also do not get 八 and ハ mixed. 八 has both strokes going outward while ハ has both strokes going the same direction.三 and ミ look similar as well. Notice 三 has all three strokes are going straight but ミ has them going at an angle. These is things to remember and to watch out for when you see these in real situations.

Confused?
let's go over numbers past ten.

十四-14*this changes し→よん so the pronounciation would be じゅよん*
十七-17*this changes as well しち→なな so you would say じゅなな*

See the pattern. To get into the 20 and 30 and up to 100 is simple.

九十-90 *this changes from く→きゅ*

The same pattern applys for numbers 100-199;

When you get too 200 just add 2
infront of hundred。

You get the point...

For most numbers in the hundreds, the pattern follows but the following 3 numbers have a different pronounciation rules. Make sure to memerize them.

When you get to the 1000 it is easy!
Just add the word sen(千)which means thousand. And the pattern continues.

Only 2 pronounciation changes in thousands.

10000 is used with the word man(万) however unlike the other numbers you must put befor 万, 二 befor and so on...

That is very difficult to remember but dont worry we will work with more numbers more in later lessons. Until then work hard to try to remember. Next time we will get into months then we will start counting money. Please continue to work hard and learn from me!
See you next lesson!
