Part 14: Forehead kisses

Si tamtam, sobrang kulit. Kung saan saan nya kami hinihila ni cyrrus.

I’m pretty impressed with Cyrrus. He’s really caring towards tamtam.

Tamtam love him. I can feel it.

Cyrrus is somewhat really complex.

He’s a never ending puzzle. He always surprises me. And I feel blessed.

Risks can sometimes produce positive effect naman di ba?

I’m just hoping for the best. Mula sa dalampasigan, pinapunta kami ni tamtam sa cottage. Yun yung bahay nila. Naaawa ako kaw tamtam kasi wala syang masyadong laruan. For a small kids like him, toys are everything. Pero si tamtam, content na. Nasaan kaya ang parents nya?

“O, mga bata! Kumain na kayo ng hapunan.”

We took our seats and we began eating.

“wow, ang sarap naman po aling hermy!!” sabi ni cyrrus

“Kailan ba ako nag luto ng hindi masarap?” Sabin i Aling Hermy sabay tawa.

“oo nga po aling hermy!! The best po ito!” sabi ko

“salamat iha.” Sabi nya

Si tamtam naman, tuloytuloy lang ng kain.

Pagkatapos namin kumain ng hapunan, tinulungan ko si aling Hermy magligpit.

Si Tamtam nag dro-drawing sa isang tabi. Si cyrrus, Naka tingin sa dagat. .ano kaya iniisip nya?

Mayamaya, nakita ko si Cyrrus na binuhat si Tamtam. Tulog na sya. Siguradong pagod sya kasi sobrang hyper! Bumalik si Cyrrus at tumingin sakin.

“Can we have a walk?” He said

“sige, tara.” Sabi ko.

We walked at the shore, letting the waves catch up on our feet. And again, he grabbed my hand and it took me to dreamland.

“ang kulit ni tamtam no?” Sabi nya

“oo, pero mabait syang bata. Bakit nga pala dito sila nakatira? Di ba secret place ito ng pamilya nyo?” sabi ko

“Si aling Hermy ang caretaker at si Tamtam ay ang apo nya.. isang araw, dumating sila sa bahay namin. Humihingi ng tulong. Sa lugar namin, kilala ang pamilya namin. Ang anak ni Aling Hermy na si Tina, at si mang elmer ang nanay at tatay ni Tamtam. Patay na sila. Isang aksidente. Ang sinasakyan nilang jeep ay nabangga ng isang bus at nasawi silang dalawa. Si aling Hermy, nag lalaba samin. Hindi nya na alam kung kanino hihingi ng tulong. Naawa si mama at sinabing dito na sila tumigil sa Escueta beach. Sila ang tagapag bantay. Pinapaaral nila mama si tamtam at syempre, sinuswelduhan si Aling Hermy. Para na ring silang parte ng pamilya namin.” He told me the whole story. 

Cyrrus’ family is a kind bunch. Nakakatuwang isipin na tutulong sila ng sobra sa mga taong hindi naman nila kadugo. 

“Your family is so kind.” I said. As I look at the waves.

“want to be a part of it?” He said. He sqeezed my hand.

“What if I said yes?” I asked.

“Then that’ll be great!” He said

“Why did you kissed me? Finally, I got the guts to ask. We stopped walking, still holding hands and he looked at me straight in the eye.

“Kasi, mahal kita. Why did you kiss me back?” He said

“Totoo ba yan? Siguro kasi mahal din kita.” Sabi ko. Hindi ko manlang naisip kung ano dapat talaga ang isasagot ko. Parang naka automatic na ang bibig ko.

“ayaw ko ng hindi sigurado.. Mahal mo ba ako?” sabi nya. 

He has this worried look in hi eyes. Scared that I might say no. but the truth is, my heart knows the answer. Yes, I do love him. Hindi pa ako comfortable sa idea na yun pero alam ko mahal ko sya. Nararamdaman ko.

Mahal ko yung electric volts ng kiss nya, yung kamay nya sa kamay ko na dinala ako sa langit, yung ngiti nya na memorized ko na. Yung ugali nya na hinangaan ko, Mga pakulo nga na lagi akong napapangiti. 

Higit sa lahat, mahal ko sya.

Natatakot ako, oo. Pero hindi ko na kaya mag sinungaling sa sarili ko ngayon..

Dahil ang puso at utak ko iisa lang ang sagot.

Mahal ko sya.

“Oo, Mahal na rin kita. Ikaw kasi eh! Pinaibig mo ako!” Sabi ko. May ngiti

“YES!!! WHOOOOO!!” sabay nag tatalon sya. Binuhat nya ako at iniikot. Yung ikot n nakikita nyo sa tv!! Ganun!! Sabay kaming tumawa.

“Mahal kita anncel. Sa totoo lang, ikaaw palang ang babaeng dinala ko dito. Can you look up anncel?” sabi nya. He’s still holding my hand.

I looked up and saw the glittering stars in the majestic sky.

“as long as there’s a single star on the sky and  a ray of sunlight in the morning..

I will always, always love you..” He said. Very sincere.

He tucked the strand from my face to my ear. Gave me a kiss on the forehead.

“I love you too. As long as the time is running. To infinity.”

I said. He smile and gave me a kiss.. and this time, it’s on my lips. 

We said our goodbyes to Aling Hermy. We went back in to the black car and he drove away.

Away from the place I will never, ever forget.

As we drove off, everything that happened sinked in.

Anncel love me too.

Anncel.

Yung babaeng inis na inis sakin.

Yung babaeng feeling ko, magiging last ko na girl friend. 

Every kiss we shared is something that makes my heart run araoung and jumped high. Every touch of her hand send shivers to me. Every smile she give me melts my heart away.

As she sleep next to me sa passenger seat, I whispered I love you into thin air.. She smiled and moved a bit. I think she got the message.

When I kissed her in the forehead a while ago, I know, this is not a game anymore. This is a commitment I want to make. She is someone I would never let go. Someone I want to be with forever. I know we’re on the right track because everthing feels right.

I parked in front of their house. I woke her up and she smiled at me.

“So miss de vega, we’re here in front of your house.”

“we are? So are you my boyfriend now?” She’s still sleepy. Half awake. She yawned and realized what she just said.

“Did I just said that out loud?” sabi nya. Shocked.

“yes. And I’m glad you did. Oo, ako na ang boyfriend mo.” I kissed her again on the forehead and she smiled.

“good. ‘cause I don’t want you be someone else’s boyfriend. I’d die.” She said.. in her sleepy tone.

“I wont be someone else’s boyfriend. I’m yours alone.” I assured her. Because everything inside me tells me that I can’t be with someone else other than her.

“bye cyrrus..” she said she gave my a smack on the lips. It’s just a sec. but I feel electrocuted.

“Bye..” I closed the car door shut and drove away from her house feeling like I’m floating in the sky.

I know this is right. It feels right.

I love her.
