I fumble with the buttons on my sweater nervously trying to do it up to hide my wet shirt underneath.
Five minutes ago I was fine, but then someone tripped me and my lunch went all over the floor and my water all over me.
I sighed softly to myself as I walked to the trash, tray in my hand and threw out my food. I walked out into the hallway towards the bathroom willing the tears not to fall.
"Stupid."
"Fat."
"Ugly."
"Clumsy."
The insults rang out to me before I had made it out and were running through my head. I'm sick of people making fun of me, it's been this way since grade 5.
I stumbled into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror, after I made sure no one else was in here I let the tears fall down my face.
I cleaned myself up, splashed some water on my face and dialled my moms number.
Ring
Ring
Ring
I hear a click and then her voice.
"Hello?"
"Mom.. Can you please come get me? I can't deal with this today.."
"What's wrong? What happened?"
"I'll tell you when you get here.."
"Okay. I'll be right there."
I made my way out of the bathroom and towards the front door of the school, insults being thrown my way. I see her car pull up a few moments later and climb inside.
"So?" She asks "What happened now?"
"Someone tripped me, in the Caf.. I fell down and my lunch went everywhere and everyone always throwing insults my way.. Mom I can't deal with this anymore. "
She frowns and begins the drive home, sitting there silently.
"I'm sick of being bullied..."
We've tried dealing with it, but every time the principal or teachers would say
"Kids will be kids. They'll stop eventually."
They never did though.
