First day of school.
I was in complete campain mode. Bright, whitened, smile on, happy face, enthusiastic voice, say hi to everyone, including the losers and the goths and the nerds.
Was I scared? Yes. Was I going to let it show? Absolutely not. I had a bulletproof ora around me today. Nothing was going to wreck me or stop me, slow me down maybe but this year was going to be perfect.
"Hey baby" I heard a velvety smooth voice from behind me.
A huge smile graced my face before I slowly turned and flipped my newly highlighted hair to face the most handsome, Jobe.
"Goodmorning babe" I replied, melting at how perfect he looked today.
He was sporting a red short sleeve polo shirt, with khaki shorts and blue and dark red checkered sperrys. He slung a backback over his shoulder as he sauntered towards me, closer to me, before he came right up to my face, his lips almost touching mine.
"Miss me?" He asked, in a quiet, secrective voice.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and started to kiss him. Truth was I missed him so so much. He had been gone to the East coast, near Boston and New York to check out campus's for the last week. Although I called him every night and he sent me pictures of him on the campus with his family, I yearned to see his face close to mine and his voice ringing in my ears.
"Guys get a room, PLEASE." I heard one of his friends, Ryker, groan as he watched us makeout. I lowered my head, a blush placed on my cheeks as Jobe started to chuckle.
"Yeah love birds" I heard a familiar voice from behind me. I whipped around as fast as I could.
"HAZE!" I squealed. I ran up and hugged her. She had also left, but she had gone for the whole month of August, up to San Fransico to her parents friends summer home. I had called her and texted her too, but she was like my other half, I needed to see her in person.
After I released her from my monsterous grip, I stepped back to take a good look at her. Her skinned had paled a fraction, not being in the blazing Cali heat for the last month. She looked spectacular in her pink crochet shorts, simple white tank and cute tan sandals on her feet. Although something, rather someone, diverted my gaze from my best friend.
"Everyone, this is Samrah, but she likes to be called Sam. She owns the house I go to every August, she moved her recently so she'll be coming to Longworth High!" She said with a more excitement than I was willing to hear.
Sam. I hated her as soon as I put eyes on her. She had no doubt naturally tanned skin, that only got more dazzlingly tanner in the summer, golden brown eyes, a megawatt smile, long lightbrown hair down to her waist, and was incredible skinny, with her white shorts showing off her toned tanned legs, and she sported a light turquoise crop top that discreetly showed her super flat tummy. She was gorgeous.
And that was not perfect.
