I pick up my favorite photo of our family and smile. Mommy is in the right corner, her smile so bright. Daddy has his arm around her and is smiling as well. I'm in Blaire's arms, wrapped up in my now favorite blanket. Blaire's hair is curled, and she's wearing the cutest dress ever. It's different shades of blue all swirled together, and little ruffles on the skirt.

I put the framed picture in my blue duffle bag and move on. Now I've covered my clothes, toiletries, and other personal items I might have needed.

Mommy and Daddy said that we're leaving, but they won't tell me where. I look over at Blaire, who is packing all of her clothes into her bag. When she is finished, she zips up the duffle.

I grab the handles on my bag and bring it into the living room where mommy and daddy are sitting, waiting for us.

Mommy smiles when she sees me. Daddy gets up and takes the bag from my hand before I can give it to him. He takes it outside, where I'm assuming he's going to put it in the car. I sit on the couch, right next to mommy, and hug her. I squeeze her shoulders because I want to show her I love her.

"Mommy, I love you so much." I extend the so for effect, and she smiles, hugging me back.

"I love so much too." She copies, and I giggle.

Blaire comes down the stairs and daddy comes in the door at the same time. Daddy takes Blaire's bag and takes it outside as well. Blaire sits next to me. She puts an arm around my shoulder and looks down at me, smiling.

She leans down to whisper, "It's going to be okay." That's why I love Blaire. She's always super optimistic compared to me.

Mommy, Blaire and I wait a few minutes for daddy to come back inside, but he doesn't. I'm starting to get a little nervous, and I can tell mommy is too.

"Girls, stay in her no matter what, okay?" Mommy orders as she grabs a knife from the kitchen the walks towards the front door. She opens the door slightly, then walks out. Blaire grabs my hand.

We hear mommy scream faintly and metal clamor to the floor.

I jump to my feet but Blaire holds my arm and stops me from running outside.

"It will be okay," Blaire bargains. "We just have to stay inside. Maybe someone will find us." I nod, looking down at her. I love my big sister. I could never live without her.

She stands up and wraps her arm around my waist.

"Maybe we should go upstairs." I nod, and follow her towards the stairs. Before we start walking up them, she tells me to hold on and goes into the kitchen. When she comes out, she is carrying two kitchen knifes. She holds one out to me, but I shake my head. I want nothing to do with those.

Then we walk up the stairs together, and hopefully it will always be both of us, together, making it in this horrible world

This chapter is super short! I think I'll try to do shorter chapters but publish them more often.

So I'm, like, really excited about this story. I think maybe I could write it as their lives go on, and maybe they might meet up with a certain group at some point😉.

What do you think? Should I do that?

Also, any comments, questions, or corrections👉🏻

This chapter was sort of a filler chapter, hopefully something big will happen in the future...

Bye👋🏻
