I don't even like you why'd you want to go and make me feel this way? -Voodoo Doll, 5sos.

Evelyn.

I was gently awoken the next day, and my blurry vision got adjusted to meet the boy with the chocolate brown, soft eyes.

"Come on, we've got school," he smiled.

I rubbed my eyes and groaned.

After shooing Zachary out of my room and finished taking a shower, i jumped into my black skinny jeans and blood red T-shirt, before grabbing my black coat and combat boots. I threw my hair into a messy bun and wore minimal make up, and finally, i chained my neck with a golden locker given to me by my dad on my fifteenth birthday.

With a sigh, i ran downstairs and the scent of chocolate chip pancakes hit me. I automatically smiled as i faced Zachary's back as he cooked.

"Now, you know how to make someone's Monday less depressing," i said, sitting on the kitchen's stool.

"Good morning to you too, princess," he pecked my cheek.

I blushed and but my lip holding back a giggle.

---

I internally sighed and closed my locker, hugging my first period books to my chest.

"Angel," his deep voice called.

I stiffened before turning around to meet his blue eyes.

"James," i breathed, i tried to control my voice-to make it icy, but still, my voice was melted.

He walked closer and greeted me awkwardly.

"Look," he started. "I'm really sorry for acting like a douche that night. I...if he makes you happy, then i'm happy, but i swear, if he hurt you, i'll literally break his jaw," his eyes darkened, as he hissed through gritted teeth.

James and i have practically been friends since we were in kindergarten, which means we grew up together. He's like an overprotective brother i never had, and i'm sure i can trust him with my life.

I chuckled and shook my head, "James, there's nothing going on between me and Zachary, you don't have to worry, we're just friends."

"Yeah, well, he's just a friend to you, but i'm sure as hell you're more than a friend to him," he said, tensed.

I gave his hand a light squeeze as the bell rang annoyingly.

"Duty calls," he smiled.

From behind James, i saw Zachary coming our way. First period is English, i have it with him.

"Okay, angel. I gotta go, see ya at break?" He asked.

I nodded and he planted a kiss on my forehead before hugging me, then he walked away.

When i looked up, i saw Zachary, frustratingly, run a hand in his dark lock as he clenched and unclenched his jaws.

What's with him?

I frowned and shrugged before making my way to English.

I sat down in the corner of the room before our teacher came to class, Zachary made his way into class and sat down behind me. When the teacher entered and everyone fell silent, she instructed us to silent read.

"Psst," Zachary whispered from behind. I gave him a side glance.

"What did James want from you?" His voice was dripping rage.

"Um..why do you care?" I said coldly.

"Because i swear, if he tried to hurt you, i will separate his soul from his body, literally." He whispered angrily, causing me to flinch at his tone as fear rushed like adrenaline through my body.

Noticing my tensed shoulder, he chuckled lowly and from the back, he whispered in my ears. "Don't worry, i won't do that unless he hurts you."

His deep voice rang in my ears as i shivered and blushed a dark shade of red, i felt the heat.

---
After the bell rang asking us to dismiss ourselves, i packed my stuff and got ready to go out when a voice stopped me.

"Excuse me?" She said. Her voice was girly, not the annoying squeaky type, but the strong, stern type of girly voice.

I turned around to face a tanned, almost Victoria Secret type model with shimmery, long black hair that dangled to her waist in beach waves. She wore a knee-length, royal blue dress and had wine-stained lips and perfectly winged liner.

Overall, she was beautiful, she almost made me feel ugly.

"Yeah?" I smiled.

"I'm Faith," she said and stuck out her hand, which i took.

"Evelyn," i mumbled.

She looks new, maybe she joined when i wasn't around.

"I just wanted to say, you and the boy sitting behind you are adorable together."

My eyes widened, "oh, no no no. We're just friends! What makes you say that?"

"friends?" She snorted. "Are you sure? Cause, the way he looks at you is priceless! I'd spend dimes to get a guy to look at me that way!" She squealed.

I felt my cheeks tint red as i covered my face with my hand and i groaned, frustrated -just the thought of him gets me to act the way i haven't acted before.

"Then, look at you," she grinned. "You're blushing! You'd be lying if you say you haven't felt anything."

"But i haven't!" I denied.

The warning bell rang, snapping us out of our conversation, as students filed up into the class. Faith groaned.

"Wanna skip this class?" She asked.

"Sure," i shrugged.

With that, we ran out of school campus.
