I looked over at her sleeping form beside me, her chest rhythmically rising and falling, while she made those small snoring sounds that she always denied making.
Was it possible to be this in love with someone?
We were long past the honeymoon stage but I still looked at her in wonder. From her lips, the bottom slightly larger than the top and her grey eyes always creased from laughter, to the curve of her hip, the perfect fit for my hand. She was everything I had ever wanted, everything I could ever want.
Four years ago she had entered my life like a whirlwind. Kayla would always jokingly refer to the time before her as 'the Dark Ages' but she couldn't be more right.
Sure she drove me crazy sometimes, she was messy and had a foul temper but the good far outweighed the bad.
Since I first laid eyes on her I was completely under her spell and I planned on staying that way for the rest of my life. My mind flicked to the small velvet box tucked away in my drawer, below my work folder that she referred to as "technical nonsense" where I knew she would never look for it.
Tomorrow I was finally going to ask her to marry me.
Unfortunately tomorrow never came.
