Joshua's POV

It'd been about three minutes, and I already didn't trust the two newbies. They said that they had just woken up in the woods, that they didn't know that was going on. But they seemed to know the woods, and no matter how much Winter tried to lead the group west, the two of them continued to steer us a bit Northwest. Charlie looked a bit happier as he trudged through the forest, listening to the one who said his name was "Leo" talk. Kylie and the girl were whispering. They continued to give us knowing glances and laugh at everything the other would say.

"Hey." I nearly jumped, and out of instinct went into a fighting position. I exhaled seeing it was only Winter. Winter. Her name was so pretty. Everything about her was so pretty. I'd never admit it to her though.I'd ruin a friendship. "Earth to Joshua? Hello?"

I gave her a small smile, breathing her fresh scent in.If I had cologne and a hairbrush, we'd definitely be an item. I used to get girls all the time. Wait. Wait, what? I used to get girls all the time? How did I...remember? I tried desperately again, clutching at that bit of knowledge. It wasn't two seconds before I nearly fainted against a tree. "AHHHH! Ow, god!" It felt like my head had nearly erupted in pain. Winter dropped to her knees beside me. She was screaming but I was numb to everything. The last thing I saw before I blacked out was Winter grabbing my hand.

In Joshua's Dream

I was in a dark room with only a spotlight shining down on a little girl. I'd be okay with that, if it wasn't a psychopathic little girl who ruined my life. The life with...friends and...UGH. I remembered. Only bits and pieces but I remembered. Maybe I was crazy. None of the others remembered anything.

"Hi Joshua. You seem to be having trouble. Pain." Lizzie said, creepily as ever.

"I. Remember. You tried to take my memories away but you failed. I. Remember." I said, my voice strained.

" I didn't fail.Oh, no. Opposite actually. You passed. You see, the story wouldn't be right without a hatter. Oh no hatters are important. Hatters are very important." She giggled. "But I didn't think I would find a real one. He-he! But you are. I will use that to my advantage." She got up and grabbed a syringe out of what seemed like nowhere. Plunging it into his neck, she smiled. "If you do what you're told, you might even stay alive. Well, longer than most."

I turned to her, my eyes wide. "Am I crazy? Are you crazy?"

"No not at all. We're just...mad"
