I have said this so many times, but I can honestly not stress it enough.
OOC anons. Always been here, always will. Yet we still befriend them because although they may not always be like their character, their admins are great people worth knowing.
But let me ask you some questions.
If you're a prim-and-proper, sophisticated, ladylike character, do you:
A) Call people idiots, losers, etc?
B) Cuss a lot?
C) Post pictures of your scantily dressed self?
D) Come home with a new man every week?
E) Complain about always being depressed and blue?
The answer to these questions, of course, are and always will be a flat-out NO.
You know what, you wanna do that, fine. It's your life. But put it into an admin account ffs. Don't be the admin with the username of a character.
Let's be honest. If you're an anon, you'll probably get followers faster than authors. There are a LOT of authors (again, the purpose of this website) and not as many anons. That's why. But if you're not even gonna try and you just want to get followers? Really? It's a let-down to people who are really in love with that character, not to mention a low-key insult to the roleplaying world.
Let's say you're a resident badass. You've gone through a lot in life. Your parents were murdered in front of your very own eyes. You trained for years to become the cruel assassin that you are to avenge them. Then out of the blue when you're living your life, someone walks up to your message board and says "hi."
What will you say?
A) Hi! cx :D :3 <3
Or
B) *blinks* Hello.
I know more than 40% of supposedly badass anons would reply with A when it would be better to reply with B. Yeah, you don't want to be rude, but you're playing your character. Maybe they're not Pinkie Pie. It's your choice as an admin to pick out someone nice or not-so-nice, yanno? Whoever you pick, though, you should stay true to that.
Most people don't understand the difference between a rude asshole and a good roleplayer. And the good roleplayers get hated for it.
Next time, think twice before you bitch at them, kay? Ask yourself, Is this the anon or the admin? And hold your tongue. Ass.
You see what I mean? It just doesn't make sense to be out of character. Can you imagine how out of place it would be for, say, the Joker, for example, to start crying if someone insulted him? Can you imagine seeing it on live TV? It wouldn't make any sense. Just like OOC roleplaying.
I'm out. PEACE.
PS; Sorry, no funny Pewds pic today. Internet refuses to allow it. :p
