Mistakes

Mistakes

I wish

That I could fix

My mistakes.

Be a different person,

Provide a different

Light for me.

I don't want

To be thought of

As harsh, mean,

And someone that

No one can talk to.

I want to be

That one person

That someone

Can count on,

Depend on.

I wish that

Pony could come to me

To spill his guts.

I wish that

He would come to me

For advice.

I wish that

He would lean on me

To cry,

Or for comfort.

I wish that

He would treat me

As he does Sodapop.

I know that I made

A lot of mistakes

Especially when it came

To this family,

But I never thought

That I messed up this badly.

I wish that

There was a way

To be forgiven

But for the things

That I've done or said,

Forgiveness can't be

Accepted.

Ponyboy,

I am so sorry.
