I couldn't feel anything but the cold darkness around me, surrounding and enveloping me. It was almost suffocating if not relaxing. I opened my eyes and was in a forest but there was something unnatural about this forest it was darker than anticipated even though I could see the sun. I scanned the area around but could only see the obvious brick path I was standing on and not the wizard of Oz kind of brick road, there was only one direction to go because the rest were blocked by spiked vines with a red tint. Curious as I was I started to follow it further and further into the forest and what must have been fifteen minutes or so I could hear the faintest sound of crying and laughing. I thought I was imagining it but as I kept walking it proceeded to get louder until it was practically in my ears and in my head going off like a train horn. Even though the sound was mind tearing and definitely annoying I kept walking with a grin on my face until it just stopped. I froze in place as the uncomfortable silence pierced through my nerves like a blade. All of a sudden a sense of panic shot through me from the feeling of being watched from behind the trees but no matter how much a search all I could see were faint shadows and empty faces but not actual people. I caught my breath and smiled wider and kept walking.
"If this is Hell you have to do better than that!" I yelled into the trees listening to it echo for miles. I walked for about another fifteen minutes before finding this old style moss covered brick doorway leading to descending stairs. I followed down them not giving in to any kind of fear and eventually found myself at a wooden door. I grabbed the handle and pushed it open without hesitation and ended up in a house. The house was dark and silent until a light was flicked on at the top of some stairs.
"Hello? Is someone down there?" A woman asked from the light source and immediately my hunting instinct kicked in, I ducked behind the couch as I could hear her careful, slow footsteps come down the stairs. I readied myself for the kill, even without my knife I was a decent murderer. I jumped out as I heard the footsteps get closer but stopped as soon as I began, standing there with her back to me was Lucia. I almost began crying and wrapped my arms around her accidentally scaring her in the process. She spun around and swung her flashlight at me but I caught it before it made contact with my face.
"B-Bones?" Tears started to swell up in her eyes as she felt my face to confirm I was real.
"Yeah its me princess." I kissed her hand and relished the feeling of her touch on my face. She wrapped me in a warm and tight hug leaving a huge smile on my face. She let go but as soon as she did a knife vertically stabbed through her neck leaving me in shock. I couldn't scream, or cry, all I could feel was anger and misery. I caught her body as it started to fall revealing the murderer behind her.
"You bastard!" I lunged at the spectre and grabbed a letter opener on the table next to me and stabbed furiously into the person trapped under me. I cut and stabbed for at least twenty five minutes straight until I stopped and noticed the person was Jeff. A huge smile plastered onto my face as I realised it was him.
"You hate him." A deep voice announced.
"Kill him." It commanded me. I looked around and could see the room turning red.
"Kill him." It commanded again. I searched around and could see Lucia's body gradually dissipating.
" Kill him!" The voice yelled and without another moment to spare I pulled the knife from Lucia's neck and stabbed it into Jeff with all of my strength splattering his blood everywhere.
"You obey well young one." The voice spoke lightly.
"Who are you?" I asked confused.
"I am all and I am nothing, I am the chaos that strikes at the heart of mankind and the insanity that follows after, I am the earths destruction. I am Zalgo." His voice changed and distorted as he spoke leaving me to hear many different voices.
"That's an impressive introduction but why am I here?" I asked brutally giving him a dark chuckle.
"Revenge." He spoke with distinction in his voice.
"For who?" I asked numbingly.
"For both of us of course." He answered nonchalantly.
" On Jeff?" I asked finally piecing the events that just happened together.
"Yes, Jeffrey Woods, the ruthless killer was once my greatest creation but has turned into my biggest bother."
"And what do you want me to do?" Anticipating the answer.
"Kill him." His voice repeated like it did when he first spoke.
"What do you get out of it?" I asked crossing my arms trying to figure out the catch.
"His soul will be mine and along with it all of the chaos and insanity I put into him, and you get to live again." I smiled knowing that this was an opportunity to be with Lucia again.
"I'll do it!" I bursted out with excitement.
"Good I'm glad your excited but I need a blood oath that you will kill Jeff." And without warning I was sent into the air dangling like a puppet on a string as pain started to surge through me until my arm ripped open and my blood left it like it was part of the wind and then my other arm ripped causing me to scream in pain but it wasn't over because I could feel the pain move to my chest, with loud cracks and snaps I could feel my chest start to tear open but I couldn't do anything but take the pain until it snapped and blood rushed out of it like a fire hydrant. I closed my eyes and sat up an a panic and noticed I was in a dark cramped space and that after hitting my head sitting up was not ideal. I felt around and could feel nothing but metal everywhere and the smell of cleansing alcohol stung my nose. I could hear people speaking above or behind me and then something opened and light flooded in. I laid still as I was slid out into the light.
"This one right here was killed by a cut to the jugular but it seemed he was tortured due to the lacerations in his face."
"This is the son of a bitch that killed my son and his friend."
"I'm sorry to hear that chief."
"Thank you for condolences but I think he got what he deserved." Without another second to lose I jumped up from where I was scaring both of the men and completely shocking them. I turned my head towards them and in the creepiest and deepest voice I could I whispered.
"I'm not dead."
