Hello everyone, and welcome back to Flip Side! c:

Sooooo don't yell at me, but on Saturday I finished Attack on Titan for the first time... and it's an okay anime, I don't hate it, but the literal only reason I finished was for the character Levi. He is SO well written in my opinion, coupled with his Japanese voice actor, who basically makes Levi the anime equivalent of Snape. I want to write a character like Levi ;-; his backstory OVAs were the only parts of AoT that made me cry actual tears. Save me ~ (aka someone please come into my pm's and fangirl with me)

As far as this story goes, it still may not be my best writing, but I think I've at least gotten out of my writer's block (to the extent it was before). The chapters are a little better, I think...

Silence followed my statement, and it seemed to echo in my ears. I sat there awkwardly, worried that I'd weirded Tomahawk and Devon out even more than I already had, before Devon spoke.

"What do you mean?"

Biting my lip, I took the plunge. Too late to back out now. "I'm a Minecraft YouTuber who goes by the username Graser10, but everyone always calls me Graser. I was a part of a server, a group of other YouTubers, called the Cube SMP." I hesitated, but forced myself to go on. "The other day, I had a fight with one of the newer members, Will. He said... he said that he didn't feel welcome and that I wasn't treating him fairly. We kind of blew up at each other, and logged out."

I stopped, wondering if I was even making any sense.

Tomahawk, however, chimed in. "Go on."

"Well... after that I remember being in my room, furious with him. I saw myself in the mirror and started to feel dizzy." This is where the recollection got fuzzy, and I tried to be as clear in my explanation as possible. "I sort of subconsciously reached out to touch my reflection. Like an instinct of some sort. And I think I passed out, because there's a big blank period there." I played with the chord of my earbuds, uncomfortable. "I woke up here... and all my equipment and contacts were gone. And when I found you two on TeamSpeak..." I trailed off, not sure if they would get what I was implying.

"Wait, hold up," Tomahawk began slowly. "You're saying that we were a part of that group of yours?"

"That's exactly what I'm saying." I stared at my feet, feeling stupid. "And you two didn't recognize me when I greeted you like I always did. And that's not all. I went for a walk the other day, and ran into two of the other guys... one of them being Will. They didn't know who I was, either."

A brief pause followed this, and for a few moments we played in silence, the clicking of the keyboard the only sound.

"So when you told us that you don't know where you are," reasoned Devon quietly. "You meant that your old friends don't know you anymore."

"That's right," I replied in a low voice, wondering if I sounded insane.

"...you know what, Graser?" asked Devon tentatively. "I think I've read something similar before."

I blinked, surprised. "Huh?"

"I think it was some kind of article online." He seemed uncertain, but curious. "Some guy claimed to be in an alternate universe where no one knew him. The article wrote him off as mentally impaired."

Despite the circumstances, my anger flared a little. "Are you saying I'm mentally impaired?"

"Calm down, I'm not," replied Devon quickly. "I believe you. I'm just telling you what I know... which isn't much."

I let my breath hiss out through my teeth as our characters reached the surface. "Is there anything else? Like how to reverse it, maybe?"

"If I knew, I would've told you already. I'm sorry, Graser." Devon paused. "You know, I'm not just sorry that I don't have the answer you need. I'm sorry we were jerks to you before. We had no idea... no clue how hard that must have been for you."

"Yeah," mumbled Tomahawk, almost reluctantly. "Sorry, man."

"It's okay. You didn't know." I fought the lump that was rising in my throat. "So, now that I've spilled everything to you guys... what next?" I felt a bit selfish asking such a question, but I'd already involved them, whether I liked it or not.

"We'll help you," answered Devon instantly.

I started. "What?"

"We'll help you," repeated Tomahawk with a bit more vigor than his best friend. "You think you can just waltz in here, tell us that, and part ways when UHC ends? News flash, that's not how it works. We'll get you back to your universe, and that's that."

Gratitude flooded through me. Even here, when they have no recollection of me beyond a few days ago... they're willing to help me? "But how? We have practically no leads."

"Leave that to me," Devon stated firmly, sounding more sure of himself now. "I'll do some research and get back to you with what I find out. Just hang in there, okay?"

"Okay," I agreed, feeling a little better at the prospect of getting home.

"In the meantime, I think you should try to find some of your other friends." I opened my mouth to question Devon's statement, but he continued on insistently. "You've already got us, and two others in the real world. There are probably others somewhere--life has this weird habit of coming full circle, no matter what the circumstances." His character turned to look at me for a second before following Tomahawk's. "Tell them what you told us. Get as many of them on your side as possible. They could be the keys to this, and we just don't know it yet."

I nodded before remembering they couldn't see me. "...okay."

This is it. This is my chance to get back home.

Yay, Devon and Tomahawk aren't jerks anymore! I was having trouble writing irritable Cube members for the longest time, honestly. And Graser deserves to get SOME moral support. I figured Devon would be one of the softest (and the only one able to make Tomahawk come around). Keep in mind that whatever's happened IRL at this point, this story is an AU... meaning that the world Graser is in is a world where the Cube never existed. Things could've turned out differently. This is just my little imagining of it c:

QUESTION(S) OF THE CHAPTER:

Since I'm on an anime kick right now...

What was your first ever anime? (Mine was Sword Art Online, back in the summer. Emily recommended it to me saying it sounded like Pixel c:)

AND

What is your favorite anime? (Even though I'm on an Attack on Titan kick right now because of Levi, I'd still have to go with Blue Exorcist. It's inspired more than a few one-shots and things, which is a pretty good indicator of my obsession level~)

Vote and comment for more! Until next time!
