Soo, this is my third story and first PJO/HP story, so please excuse my inadequacy. My other stories are POTC based (hence the music) so please check them out if you like that sort of stuff. Tootles! 🌊Izzy
Percy POV
Screams echoed all around me, but I tuned them out. I was fighting back to back with my Wise Girl and we were making our way over to our target, the Queen of Potty Sludge herself; Gaea. Stupid bloody nose. I was tired of war, and just wanted to settle down with Annabeth. I took comfort in the familiar warmth of her against my back; guarding me, keeping me safe.
We were right in front of Gaea when I heard it; a shrill scream, an insane laugh. I couldn't feel Annabeth at my back, and panicked. I whirled around, only to see Annabeth standing, staring down at a sword embedded in her chest.
I caught her as she fell, and laid her down on the ground as if she were a china doll. "It's okay Wise Girl, you'll be alright, just hang on; Apollo will be here soon!" It was then that I looked around, and realised something. Apollo wasn't coming... no one was. The gods were chained to the ground and were watching helplessly as I hastily put pressure on the wound; trying to save Annabeth; my Wise Girl. "Come on, you can pull through!" I shouted, pleading with her, "you always are. Together forever...remember?" Athena started sobbing.
"Percy," she rasped, "I'm not going to make it, you know that." In truth, I did know. I just didn't want to accept it. "I love you Wise Girl. Always." She cracked a grin. That beautiful smile that never failed to take my breath away. "Move...on, Percy. I...love..." she took a shuddering breath, and closed her eyes. I would never again see that smile, or hear her laugh. I would never again go for seaside walks, or lay next to her on the sand at camp. Never again would she ramble on and on about architecture to me. She was gone; my soulmate, the love of my life was gone.
I picked up Riptide in one hand, and my clawed and dented shield in the other. I was deathly calm; because this was not the time for tears. That would come later. Right now...right now was payback time.

I slowly turned to face Gaea. "Oh, is the poor wittle Pewcy angwy?" she taunted. I was done with her. "Does the wittle hewo want his mommy?" I stepped forwards. "You killed my family, you killed my friends, and now you have killed Annabeth," I stated calmly. My outward appearance showed no signs of the anger that was simmering below my skin, waiting to be let out. "Now, I think I'll have to kill you." I then channeled all of my emotions into a glare which I sent directly at her. Gaea flinched and quailed under my glare. Wasting no time, I created an earthquake, and summoned; not a hurricane, but a typhoon to surround me, and charged.
Stab, slash, parry, slice, parry, slash, parry, stab. My mind went on auto pilot as my typhoon slowly raised me up so I was hovering. I grabbed Gaea, and stabbed her, letting the typhoon pull apart the sand as she crumbled. Gaea was dead.
I dissipated the typhoon, and dropped to the ground next to Annabeth's body.
It was only now that I looked around at the battlefield. A heartbreaking sight awaited me. There, scattered on the ground, were the Seven. Frank was riddled with arrows, and his body was draped over Hazel's who had a knife in her throat, protecting her, even in death. Jason was lying on the ground, having been crushed by Polyphemus. Piper had been torn apart and drained of blood by some empousa, and Leo had been stabbed, and had melting imperial gold in the wound. They were all dead, and it was my fault.
