The week had been pretty good. I hung out with my friends everyday, dad and I hung out after I got home from school and he got home from work and better yet, Danny hasn't bothered me since the day in the hallway. I was very grateful for that on a count of I did not need any drama with him and his other fuck buddies. I've only been here 2 weeks and I don't need boy drama.

I move around the kitchen with the different ingredients and place them on the counter. Dad and I were making dinner together tonight. We were making lasagna, salad and these homemade mashed potato's that my mother absolutely loved. I cant blame her, they are like heaven. They were velvety and milky and were the best potato's ever. She used to always make them for us and they were amazing. I'm gonna make them tonight and hopefully, they'll be just as good.

"Shoot!" "What's wrong dad?" "We don't have any milk for the potato's." "Oh. That's ok I'll drive up to the little store a few blocks away and get some." "You sure?" "Yeah it's ok dad." "Alright." He takes out his wallet from his pocket and hands me five bucks. I take it and shove it in my back pocket. "Be right back." I say with a smile and he smiles back. I grab my leather jacket, slip my shoes on, grab my keys and walk out the door.

When I got to the store I parked my bike, took off my helmet and walked up to the  entrance to the store. I opened the door and heard the little ding from the bell, letting the worker(s) know someone was here. There were quite a few people here too. Not as many as I expected to be here on a Friday night. Some teenagers were even here. I walked to the back of the store and to the freezers. I grabbed a gallon of milk and then walked up a row that had candy and smiled when I saw two Hershey with almonds bars. They're my dad and I's favorites. When I was little, he would buy one and break it in half and we would share it, because I was too little to be able to eat a whole one. I grabbed both of them and made my way up to the cashier.

I put the items on the counter and the woman rang up the items. "5 dollars even sweetie." she said with a smile. I grabbed the money out of my pocket and handed it to her. She put the items in a bag and handed it to me. I grabbed to bag and made my way to the door. Just as I was about to open it, Mason and Danny walked in. They were laughing and when I got closer to them to walk out, they noticed and stopped talking. Mason awkwardly excused himself by clearing his throat and walking away. I moved to the side to get out but Danny mirrored my action, blocking me. I moved to the other side and he did the same thing. A smirk made its way onto his face and I narrowed my eyes at him. "Leaving so soon?" I ignore him and just stand there. "What, you wont talk to me even when we're not in school either?" "Just let me leave Danny. I have to be somewhere." I move again and so does he. "Where?" he asks and it looks as if he's a little jealous. I smirk. "Wouldn't you like to know." His face drops and he looks at the ground for a second and then he looks back up at me. "Candy, why have you been ignoring me?" I look around the store and then back to Danny. Someone trying to get into the store catches my eye and I look back at Danny. "You need to move, someone's trying to get in." He turns his head around and then moves. I take this as my chance to leave and I walk past Danny and through the door.

Sadly, it wasn't that easy. Danny walked right out behind me and grabbed my arm, stopping me. I turn around with an annoyed look on my face. "You didn't answer my question." "I don't like you." I said simply. He looked taken back by my statement. "Why?" "Because I cant trust you. And I don't like people I cant trust." "And why can't you trust me?" he asked incredulously. "1, you stood me up and 2, you lied to me about why you stood me up." "That's it?" "Yeah." I said in a duh tone. A huge smirk makes it's way onto his face. "So your still upset that I didn't take you on that date?" It was more of a statement than a question. My eyes got huge. To be honest, I was a little upset that he stood me up and didn't even apologize or anything, but I wasn't going to let him know that. "No, I'm upset because you lied to me." "Right." He says, extending the 'I'. "See you at school Monday." he says before walking away and back into the store.

When I get home, most of the food is almost ready, the potato's is the only thing left to cook. Thankfully, dad had cut all of them while I was out and had them boiling in water, so all I had to do was mash them and then add the extra ingredients into them. I took the milk out of the bag and took out the spices needed to mix with the potato's. I drained the water from the pot and then mashed them. Once there were no lumps, I added the spices and mixed the potato's. Once everything was done, we brought it to the table along with the plates, glasses and silver wear. We loaded our plates with the delicious food and dug in.

Once dinner was done I helped dad was the dishes and we talked for a little bit. Once the dishes were done, dad went into the living room and sat down. I took this time to grab the two chocolate bars from the grocery bag and made my way into the living room with him. I handed him one and sat down beside him. I saw a smile etched on his face and I couldn't help but smile too. "I haven't had one of these in forever." he says. He tears the wrapper away and takes a bite of the chocolate. He chuckles and looks at me. "Still tastes the same." I smile and open mine and take a bite from mine as well. We sat on the couch and watched tv for a while and talked too. Soon I found myself getting really sleepy. My eyelids felt like they weighed a ton. I closed them and let darkness incase me.
