Patrick Martin Stumph (born April 27, 1984), known professionally as Patrick Vaughn Stump, is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. After signing to Warner Record and dropping out of college, he rose to fame during the promotion of his first full album, Soul Punk. The album has been described as "funky and R&B infused", and Stump toured in the US and Europe in support of it.

Personal Life

Stump publicly came out as gay in 2010 via his social media accounts and continues to be an active LGBT activist.

Controversy

Many media outlets and fans have put forward theories about the people his music could be about, the most popular being the one that links the majority of his music to being written about fellow Youngbloods High student turned singer-songwriter Pete Wentz. Neither have confirmed or denied the theory, but many believe Wentz's music to also be about Stump, despite Wentz never addressing his sexuality.
