Peter Lewis Kingston Wentz III (born June 5, 1979) is an American musician. Before signing to GDY Records, Wentz was a fixture of the Chicago hardcore scene. Known for his poetic lyrical style, Wentz's first album, Gray, shot to No. 1 on the charts after its release, eight months after he won Season 4 of The Voice USA.
Controversy
Wentz uses male pronouns in many of his songs, as well as female, sparking uncertainty about his sexuality. Many assume him to be bisexual, though Wentz has neither confirmed or denied this. Linked in to this is the popular debate of whether the songs featuring male pronouns are written about fellow Youngbloods High student turned singer-songwriter, Patrick Stump. Neither have commented on the theory, but many believe Stump's music has strong links to Wentz.
