POINT OF VIEW: Ella O'Connor
I pull away, not wanting him to feel awkward. He grins, and his bright blue eyes glint with an expression that I've never seen him display before, and for some reason, it makes my heart skip a beat. He bends over, letting his hair fall in front of his face as I hear him laughing just loud enough for me to hear. "What?" I ask.
"Nothing. Nothing." He states, standing up straight and looking at me. "Tell ya later. Let's just get outta here. Hospitals give me the creeps." He mumbles.
"Enough said." I reply.

"So what are we going to do about your eye? It's not like you can just go around telling everyone that you got in a fist fight. And I doubt that you want to go tell everyone that your Mom did this to you." He says, unlocking his car and opening my door for me. I acknowledge him with a nod as he shuts the door again, walking around to his side and climbing in. A few seconds after he gets the car moving, I reply to his question. "I have make-up. I can cover it up and no one will have a clue that it happened." I state.
There's a long pause. "Does it really look that bad?" I ask quickly.
"Wait, you haven't seen it?" He replies.
"No. I'm afraid." I answer.
"You're going to have to look at it eventually." He voices.
"Thanks for the comfort." I joke.
"Just bein' realistic. I don't want you to dread it forever. You can't hide from it."
"I guess you're right." I reply, looking over at him.
"Now that's what I like to hear." He winks with a half-smile and a re-assuring nod.
"Ugh, you're so obnoxious sometimes." I roll my eyes.
"Ow! Shit." I hiss.
"What happened?" Cory asks attentively.
"Mental Note; No eye rolling." I reply.
"Pfft. Good luck with that." He remarks. I lightly back hand him on the arm as punishment.
"So what do you think your Mom is going to say about my injuries?" I ask, changing the subject.
"She'll probably feel really bad and make sure you stay around for at least a week." He answers.
"Sounds about right." I agree.
Hey guys! Sorry for the teeny mid-story interruption. I know my chapters have been pretty short, and I apologize, but as some of you may notice, I update maybe... Err.. --4 chapters per day. The bright side is that as long as Summer 2013 continues, I will strive to continue doing that. Another thing, I'm having heart surgery on August 21st, (Long story..) so I may not update for about 3 days or so after that, and then I'll be typing away in my hospital bed!! :D If you're reading this, I'd like to thank you so much for reading my story!! REALLY! IT MEANS SO MUCH!
Note: I'm hoping for my next chapters to be a bit longer, and it'll be updated probablyy... later today! Until then, happy reading!!!

Teen FictionI've been friends with Cory since we were 6. Despite everyone we know poking fun at us for hanging out all the time, the subject of 'dating' never came up. But lately, I've been thinking about him differently. The way his eyes glint when he smiles a...
