Komui brought me to an elevator, it didn't look like an elevator though. I stepped on, and we were off. We went down, pretty fast too. We went past many levels. on the way down, Section Chief Reever. He seems like a nice man. While we went, I noticed several people in white-ish coats and backpacks, I wonder what they did. Reever must have seen the look on my face, because he said, "those are Finders. They don't have innocence but they want to help the Order." He pointed to one that stopped to talk to a girl with dark green hair, "they help exorcist with all sorts of jobs." That's pretty cool.

When we reached the bottom. Standing before me was a monster looking thing. She was tall and sort of see-through. I glanced around. Komui stood back, "this is Helvaska. She will see what your synchronization rate." I looked at him.

"What's a synchronization rate?" I asked. He looked at me in a way that made me feel like I should have known. I felt a blush come across my face. I feel like an idiot.

"It's the rate in which you synchronize with your innocence. Like how often, and how well you will synchronize." I nodded. That made sense. "When you activated your innocence before, have you had to do it more than once to make it activate?" I shook me head. "That's a sign of a low rate, if it will activate every time, that would mean a high synchronization rate."

I paused. I had no idea what mine would be. "I've never activated my innocence." He stared at me. His eyes were wide. His face told of disbelief and shock.

"No, you must have. At least once. Otherwise how would you have known you were an exorcist?" He asked. I felt almost like I was cheating him some how. But I wouldn't ever try to cheat some one, unless it was poker. Then yeah, I would.

"I've never activated it. It won't no matter what I try." I looked at the floor, I felt a little ashamed. "But," I said lifting my head up to look at him in the eyes, "I know I'm an exorcist! I'm a parasite type." I lowered my shirt from my left shoulder. It exposed a green crossed burned into my back, just above the shoulder blade. "It's right here, it looks just like Allen's. only it doesn't make my skin red. like his." He moved closer looking at the innocence. He nodded, and turned me towards Helvaksa.

"Come child," Her voice was smooth, and cold. It was both comforting and frightening. "Let me have a look at you." I stepped closer. Her tentacle thingys picked me off the ground. I liked heights, but I was terrified if anyone ever picked me up. I swallowed my fear though, as she began to probe me. It felt like bugs crawling all over the inside of my skin. I could feel the tentacles searching, my skin stretching with their intrusion. She explained how she could only get an accurate reading through touch. I told her that I understood. And she seemed almost happy. She placed her forehead to mine and she started spouting numbers.

They started very low, "2, 5, 23, 37, 48, 58, 60, 67, 77, 80, 91, 9-" She cut off. I looked down at Komui and Reever. Their faces were unreadable in the dark room. "Sorry, I'll try again. She started again, this time the numbers started high. "97, 76, 65, 45, 24, 10, 3." She stopped and put me down. Those numbers had dropped pretty quickly. I think I liked the numbers from the first time around.

Reever came over to me. I trembled, it had gotten suddenly cold. He took off his coat and put it around me. I graciously accepted. "What is wrong hevlaska?" Koumai asked. There was anger in his voice, but beneath it, there was uncertainty.

Hevlaska shook her head, "I could not get the rate. It could be due to the fact that she's never activated it, but-" She shook her head again. Disbelief now echoed through her words. I didn't have a number. Nobody knew. I turned to Komui with a question in my mind.

"What does she mean?" I looked at him, he shook his head this time. He wouldn't answer me. I poured all of my sadness and hope into one puppy dog face. This had to work. I needed to know the truth, because I think that, it could be really bad. It did. He caved.

"If a synchronization rate is below 10% that person will become a fallen one." His faced darkened at the thought, I sank to my knees. He looked over at me. I'm sure my face was filled with doom. I had seen one of those. With Cross, after Allen left. I had seen the destruction that it had made. Cross explained how that exorcist had fallen out of favor with the innocence. And that, that man was going to die. Komui saw the dread on my face, "b-but I'm not saying that yours is under 10%. It could be that because you've never activated it that she couldn't tell." He managed to sputter through.

I thought to myself, "Yeah, that could be it." I nodded. I was still shocked though. Would my life really end so early? I was only 15. I rose to my feet. "Well, I'm starved." I looked at Reever who chuckled.

"Then let's go eat!" Komui said as he made the elevator go to the cafeteria. Reever explained that chef could and would make anything you wanted. I just smiled at the thought, that I, who pissed cooks off everywhere, could eat as much as I wanted. This was like, THE best moment of all time.

We reached the cafeteria, I walked in and looked around. This place was huge! Next to the entrance was a kitchen, I assumed from the long line standing in front of this small window thingy. I got in the back of the line. And waited. And waited. And waited, until finally, it was my turn.

I stepped up and met a pretty weird looking dude. He took one look at me and smiled. A big smile too. "My name's Jerry! A new recruit I see~! Order anything, I'll make it." His smile was greatly appreciated, and warmly welcomed by a smile of my own. The thing earlier was. That's enough. Move on.

I thought, "okay! spaghetti with extra sauce, a baked potato, curry sweet though I don't like spicy things, two pieces of toast, a plate of stir fry with plenty of meat, and two tempura vegetable rolls." I said with a smile on my face, "oh! and some mashed potatoes with gravy!" He looked at me stunned.

He shook his head slightly, "boy~ I love parasite types, they're so fun to cook for. You eat almost as much as Allen does."

I'm sure my face lit up, "You know nii-chan?" I asked.

"Oh, boy. I sure do!" He said, "The sweetest boy I ever met. The funnest to cook for too." I smiled as I watched him make my food. When it was done he handed it to me on a large tray, I said my thanks and I looked around the large room. The only person I recognized, sat alone. It was that Kanda man. Great.

-their adventures continue, in the next chapter! Please leave a comment, because I'm pretty sure the only one reading is me looking back and making sure I spelled everything right. Should I continue? let me know what you think. Again, I do not own D. Gray-Man, though I so~ wish I did. Thanks for reading-
