Lets take a journey

Chapter 3 - Meet Anna

I drove separately from Alesa and Adam to the offices but followed their car. When we got to the offices I got out of my Jeep and jogged over to them. We all walked inside together.

"Hey everyone, we have been expecting Alesa's sister to come from California and she's finally here!" Adam announced to everyone as we walked through. "We can show you around in a little bit and introduce you to everyone but first I want to get you set up." he smiled to me turning around while saying that to me as we walked through the offices.

We came upon a room near Adams and two other people and Adam told me it was my office. I unpacked all of my things and hooked up my computer with the help of a man from the offices named Jake.

"Thank you for helping me set up, I could not have done this without you!!" I exclaimed.

"Oh it's no problem." replied Jake and he exited the room passing Adam.

"He kiddo." Adam said coming into the room and observing my setup. "nice" he jested "looks a little bare though" he laughed at me. 

"Hey!" I yelled and punched his arm while laughing.

"Ouch that hurt so bad!" he yelled with sarcasm, falling to the floor "I think I'm going to die!" he pleaded as he placed his hand over his head gesturing he fainted.

"Oh my." I laughed and blushed consciously, for everyone was staring and laughing at us. I grabbed Adam and pulled him up off of the floor. "So what did you REALLY come in here for?" I questioned.

"Oh yeah." he laughed "I was going to introduce you to everyone so lets get going." he replied.

Everyone gathered by the couch and Adam introduced me. "This is Alesa's sister Anna," Adam Pronounced "So be nice to her." he laughed.

He introduced me to everyone separately. He reminded me of everyone's names, "Barney, Max, Jake, Cory, Tim Tim, Red, and Ethan." he said as someone I didn't know walked by. "Oh yeah and that's Ross."he pointed to Ross and he walked over to us.

"Hey I heard my name." Ross noted with a smirk.

"Hey, yeah I'm Anna." I replied with a smile. He was very cute, I thought to myself, maybe he's nice too. 

"This is Alesa's sister, remember the one I was telling you about. She just moved here from California to work on her YouTube career." Adam remarked.

"Oh yeah I do remember you telling me about her! Well in that case, M'lady." He says tipping an invisible fedora and walking to his office.

I laugh and he glances back at me. He seems fun and goofy.

"Aha he's so funny." says Adam "You can stay around here if you'd like, were off work in like an hour so."

"Yeah I think I'm going to stay around here." I grinned as I leaned back and forth on my feet.

"Ok kiddo, tell me if you need anything!" Adam smiled, grabbing my shoulder as he walked over to talk to one of the editors.

I walked back over to my office and started setting up my little nick-knacks onto my desk. I got out my Pokemon Stuffed Animals and set them up around my desk and by my computer. Then I got out my Yoshi, plastic action figure and placed it by my monitor.

When I wasn't looking, someone had come and stood by the door frame. When I turned around and saw them, I jumped.

"Woah you ok there? I didn't mean to startle you. I just came by to see if you wanted help putting up your sound foam." Ross fretted. Oh good, it was just Ross, I sighed.

"Wow you frightened me." I giggled. 

He smiled at me blushing with regret. "Yeah I probably should have knocked first." He laughed.

"I'll take you up on that offer if its still available" I retorted with a grin, making his flushed red face return to normal.

"Ok sure, lets get started!" He smirked as he walked over to the sound foam lying in a box on the carpet floor. "Pink and black sound foam?" he chuckled "Nice, I wish that I had some."

We got to work putting the sound foam up. "So how old are you?" I questioned.

"19" He replied "And you?"

"I'm 18. I Just turned 18 a couple of weeks ago actually." I remarked.

"Oh so where did you grow up?"He mumbled.

"I grew up in Washington....for the most part." I said.

"What do you mean, for the most part?" He cautioned, puzzled.

"Well....I ran away." I gulped.

"You..you ran away? What? Why?" He proclaimed staring at me.

He had stopped putting up the foam panels and focused on me. "It's none of your business." I grumbled still focusing on my work. "Could you please leave." I demanded.

"I'm so sorry if I offended you I just..." he fretted reaching out to me with remorse. Regretting asking the question.

I cut him off before he could finish, "Just go." I warned.

He got up and headed for the door. He turned around for a second, looking at me still working on placing the foam on wall. He then left the room. 

I know it was stupid of me to overreact about a simple question but I don't know him! I thought to my self. I just can't blurt out why I ran away from my family....But I do feel bad for snapping on him because of my guilt.

I finished up my office and started to leave. Everyone else seemed to be leaving at the same time too. I saw Ross and we made eye contact. It was so awkward so I quickly looked away but he continued to look at me as I walked out the door to the stairs.

Max walked up to me and he asked me how long I will be staying.

"I think a month, or at least that is how long I'm planning on staying. I might stay longer, it depends on how much my channel improves I guess." I shrugged focusing on the stairs as he jogged to keep up to me.

"Hey slow down." He said grabbing my arm so I would turn around. "Whats wrong?" He asked concerned letting go of my arm.

"Nothing." I smiled and shrugged, "I'm just stressed about the trip is all, no reason to worry. Thanks for asking anyways!" I lied to him as I ran over to my Jeep before he could said anything else. I got in and watched him go to his car. Once he was out of sight, I sank into my seat and thought about Ross and his question. Why DID I run away?
