Passenger Seat

Alden picked up Maine from her Manila condo.
He is coming with the Kalyeserye gang (and of course, Maine) to Laguna today as this is where they are having the "Juan for All, All for Juan" portion and they are also having the grand opening of the first "Aldub Library."
He had work in the morning in Manila. So right after his work, he went to pick his "better half" to her condo, so they can go together to his hometown, Laguna.

He is now standing in front of her condo door, feeling kind of nervous.
This is his first time to pick her up.
Mixed feelings of nervousness and excitement.
He is excited to see her.
Excited to be with her for the day.
Excited to imagine that he is picking up his girlfriend from her home.

"Susmaryosep naman, RJ. Wag ka ngang pabebe dyan." he uttered to himself.

He has been standing at her door for a good five minutes now, trying to calm himself down.

Once he got the courage, he finally knocked at her door. After a few seconds, he heard a reply saying that she is almost there at the door.

It was still kind of early to go to their meeting place for their Kalyeserye taping so they weren't in a rush.

When she came to open the door, he could not hide his wide grin.

"Hello! Morning!" he cheerfully said.

"Morning din." she replied but not with the same enthusiasm.

"Masakit parin ba puson mo?" he concerningly asked.

She told him yesterday through their nightly phone call that she was feeling discomfort due to her monthly visitor. Alden could not help but feel worried for her. That is all he could think about for the whole night. During their call, he was comforting her, telling her that she will feel better later.

Then, he got an idea to pick her up tomorrow. He wants to take care of her.

"Sunduin kita bukas sa condo mo?" he asked her over the phone last night.

"Huh? Why?"

"May work ako sa umaga lang and EB. So sabay nalang tayou punta sa Laguna bukas." he said trying to hide the excitement in his voice.

"Kaw ha? Sweet mo naman." she teased.

"For you only."

They were now in his red car. Alden was grinning widely making Maine feel uncomfortable.

"Hoy! Mag behave ka ha!" she warned him.

"Opo."

"Pwede tayong makining nang music?"

"Sure. Sayong phone gusto mong ikabit?"

"Hindi. Sayo na. I want to listen to your music."

Alden knows that Maine enjoys good music. Hopefully, she likes his ones. Well, they always talk about music, and it seems that their tastes are quite similar.

The first song that played was "Up" by Olly Murs and Demi Lovato. Next was "From the inside out" by Hillsong.

Fortunately, Maine liked these songs.

The next song that played seemed to fit their situation perfectly...

They looked at each other's eyes when they heard the lyrics.

"Parang bagay ah." Maine jokingly said.

Alden wasn't in a joking mode though. "Bagay na bagay talaga."

He then started to sing along with the song...

He sang it full of feelings.

Maine can't help but smile.

"Mag focus ka nga sa daan." she said while giggling.

"My new favourite song." he said after the song finished.

"Ako na rin." she also replied.

They just had a moment.

"Gusto mong McDo. Drive thru tayo." he asked her.

"Oh sige."

"Pero wag kang mag-ko-coke ha. Lalong sasakit tyan mo." he said concerningly. "Hot chocolate nalang?"

"Oh sige, sweetie-pie!" she teased. She didn't care if she said that to him lovingly. He deserved it anyways because of the way he is so corcerned for her. Sweet naman nya.

PS. This was based on a true story. Kasi there was a rumour that went around saying that Alden did pick her up to go to the way to Laguna. They also went to Mcdo drive thru and Alden did buy her hot choc instead of soft drinks because she was having period pains. This was confirmed by the servers of McDo.
