I cannot believe it.
I seriously thought I was done with this uniform crud when I left Walden Middle School. But here we are, and this time we're stuck with maroon polos, and these hideous mustard knit-skirt.
Sophie walks in looking like somebody had locked her in a Porta-Potty for a five years.
"I still can't believe we all haven't gone blind looking at these things." She muttered. I just grunted in reply. Mom thinks these uniforms are ingenious, but the fanciest thing I've ever seen my mom in was when she dressed up as Marmee for book club, so I don't exactly trust her opinion. As we walked down the halls of Walden High, I spotted Emma and Becca waving to us. I forced a smile and walked over to them. We were walking to our home room - we all had the same homeroom teacher- when an angry Cassidy stomped over to us.
"WHY DID THIS STUPID SCHOOL PUT ME IN A STUPID SKIRT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT." We all giggled but were very quickly silenced by a glare from Cassidy. She looked and acted exactly like her father, Mrs. Sloane told us, but she had defidently inherited Mrs. Sloane's Queen Clementine Look.
I was late for 5th period -science- and I was walking through the door. The entire class was staring me, and the teacher looked like she had just sucked on a lime. "Ms. Megan Wong. You have made a Lovely reputation for yourself already, if you wouldn't mind quitting the gawking and take a seat!" The class snickered, including my boyfriend, Simon Berkley.
That is how my year started.
