The 7th Mother-Daughter-Book-Club (#Wattys2016)

         Me and Megan are at the mall, shopping for Christmas presents for our friends.

                   "Oooh, this would look great on Cassidy!" Megan squealed, holding up a mint green infinity scarf. I laugh.

"If you buy Cassidy any sort of clothing, she'll kill you." I say, and Megan laughs, too.

    "Fine, but what about it in turquoise for Becca?" She asks me. I give her a thumbs up and continue to shop for my own presents. Soon enough, I have all my shopping done, and me and Megan are in the food court, reviewing.

"I've got a girl's red socks shirt for Cassidy, these really cool lily-flower hair clips for Jess, and that scarf for Becca." Megan tells me. "And no, I will NOT tell you what I got you." She adds, seeing the look on my face.

                "I got a shirt that has the Divergent faction rings on it with a different sport inside each for Cassidy, A copy of The Fault In Our Stars and headphones for Jess for when she's on the road with the Madrigals, and 3 Alex And Ani bracelets for Becca."  "And no,"  I mimic Megan's voice, "I will NOT tell you what I got you." Megan rolls her eyes. "Come on, we're due at Cassidy's in an hour, she says. and we walk out the door together.

         Ok, I'm just gonna come out and say it: I lied about  the presents. I actually got the 9 of us, (Jess, Cassidy, Becca, Megan, Darcy, Tristan,  Theo, Simon, and I)   tickets to Six Flags. There's one in Agawam, Massachusetts. I just made up a bunch of gifts on the spot when Megan asked.

"EMMA! MEGAN" a tinny voice yells from the kitchen "Hi Chloe!"  I laugh as she jumps into my arms. I hug her for a moment and then I set her down to go attack Megan.

       "Cassidy, Theo, Jess, Tristan, Simon, Darcy, and Becca are in the Turret." Mrs. Sloane-Kinkaid says, giving me a quick hug before returning to the dinner she's working on. I jog upstairs to find everyone. When  walk in, Theo's eyes are wide as he looks around.

         "So THIS is the famous turret!"  he says, looking around. 

"Yeah." Tristan says with a grin. "But don't go up here after Cassidy's lost a game. Once, after she used all the swears she knew, she started making some up." We all laugh at this story. Megan walks in, and Cassidy stands up.

"Boys, stay here and behave or I'm putting glitter in your hair and warm water in your hands as you sleep tonight." Cassidy warns, and we follow her to her room.

"My Christmas present." She says, closing her eyes and taking a breath, "Is to let you do girly stuff to me."

I immediately see through this. "You forgot to buy presents didn't you?" Cassidy blushes and nods. I sigh.

           "Well.....Maybe you should let us make you over for a whole week." Megan suggests. Cassidy pales.

    "I said for TODAY....." Cassidy starts, but Jess interrupts. "You DID forget our Christmas presents." She points out , clearly enjoying herself. "It would TOTALLY make up for being present-less...." I add.

      "I mean, you wouldn't want to ruin our first ever Christmas Eve Sleepover Party, would you?  Becca finishes.

"Fine!" Cassidy relents and we get to work.

"So! Megan and I will handle clothing. Then Becca will do makeup as Jess finishes with hair." We all get to work. Megan and I go downstairs to tell Mrs. Sloane our plan, and she lets us borrow some of her clothes.  "Good luck!" She laughed, and we got to work.

        In the end, we find black leather skinny jeans, and a simple, dove - gray tunic that's the same colour as her eyes.  We match this  with black ankle boots.

From Cassidy's room, we hear a scream. "They must have started on Makeup." I whisper somberly to Megan. We snicker.

       "What is going ON in there?" Darcy asks us.  

"Oh, you'll find out, dear brother of mine." I say with a mischievous grin. We shooDarcy back to the turret, and have Cassidy get dress.

            She comes out looking, well..... pretty. Her hair hangs in soft waves down to her shoulder blades, and it's been put half back very loosely. She's wearing gold eye shadow and a touch of mascara, which highlights her light grey eyes. Becca puts on a dab of lip gloss and some gold Alex and Ani's for a final touch, and we step back to survey our work.

       "I feel..... gooky." Cassidy Complains, and we all laugh.

I tell her to go show her mom, and the rest of us grab the boys from the turret.

"Wait until you see her!" Megan whispers to Tristan.

His mouth falls open as he sees her. "Wow...." He manages. and Cassidy blushes a little bit.

Christmas dinner is full of laughter and stories, and I can't help thinking as I fall asleep, how much fun tomorrow will be.

A/N: Sorry for the abrupt ending guys, but I have to go to dad's. I come up with these as I go, and I'm pretty proud of coming up with this. I saw this on another story, and I'm going borrow it. IT, would be a QOTC (Question Of The Chapter)

QOTC: What's your favourite song?

Right now, I really like Hanging Tree. (The Jennifer Lawrence version.) It's a little eerie, but still so, so good.
