Dan's POV
"For here or to go?" Dan asks as he takes the man's- sorry, Phil's cash. If Dan knows his name, he might as well use it.

"For here," Phil replies. "So, uh, Dan, how's your day been so far?" Dan looks over and smiles a closed lip smile. Phil smiles back, wide and bright.

"Alright, but it could be better if my co-worker would show up so I can get home. My shift ended about twenty minutes ago." Dan says, but he doesn't mind right now, because usually his customers are rude, or don't talk, so Phil actually carrying on a conversation with him made him slightly less lonely.

See, Dan did have friends, but only two, and they both went moved away after high school. His friend, Will, moved to Rome, Italy to fulfill his dream to open a restaurant there. And Eli, he went to college in America. Eli was actually American, but his parents moved him here when he was five. So he went back, he had family there he wanted to meet.

"Here's your coffee," Dan says, and Phil looks up from his phone to take it. Dan watches as he chooses a window booth, showing the busy street outside. Phil takes a laptop out of his bag, and begins typing on it. Dan was staring at him for a full on minute before realizing what he was doing.

The door chimes, and in comes a flustered Olivia. "I am so sorry Dan! My car wouldn't start so I had to call Jake and persuade him in to coming home to jump start it." Jake was Olivia's boyfriend, and Olivia doesn't have a conversation without mentioning him at least once.

Dan clocks out, looking over at Phil, his drink already half gone and the words on the page growing. Dan smirks a little, noticing the end of Phil's tongue sticking out of the side of his mouth. His eyes travel to his Adam's apple, and then his eyes, which were so-

"Dan! Are you even listening?" Olivia laughs, bringing him out of his little trance. Blush creeps up his neck, and he shakes his head. What're you doing, Dan? Just because you're into guys, doesn't mean every guy is into them too.

"Well, I'm going to go, I'm tired, and there's a frozen TV dinner waiting for me." Dan says, looking at Phil one more time before walking out of the door.

Phil's POV

"So, uh, Dan," Phil says, reading his name tag. Dan Howell. He wonders if it's short for Daniel. "How's your day been so far?" He waits for an answer, and Dan looks over at him and gives a closed mouth smile.

"Alright, but it could be better if my co-worker would show up so I can get home. My shift ended about twenty minutes ago." Dan says. As he starts to make his coffee, Phil pulls out his phone and begins to play with it. He felt awkward and he didn't know why. He's just another guy. Just like the ones in your class, the ones on the street, just a guy. He probably doesn't even remember your name.

"Here's your coffee," Dan says, and he looks up from his phone. Dan pushes a mug towards him and Phil hands him the cash. Grabbing his mug, he goes and chooses a booth by the window. Pulling out his laptop, he opens to the GoogleDocs, continuing on the book he's writing. Phil got lost into his characters' world until he heard Dan's voice and a girl's. Jealousy comes over him, and he tries to ignore it. What is wrong with him? He secretly listens in, and oddly enough, relief washes over hi when he hears the girl mention her boyfriend, Jake, apparently. So Dan wasn't taken....interesting. Just as he was working up the courage to go ask him for his number, and hoping he wouldn't get rejected, Dan walks out the door and gets lost into the crowd of people on the street.

Dan's POV

As Dan walked home, he has this sinking feeling in his stomach, knowing he will never see that Phil Lester again.
Approaching his building, he sighs, knowing he will have to climb up those wretched stairs. He begins his trek, and when he reaches his flat, he unlocks his door and steps inside.

He puts that TV dinner he told Olivia about into the microwave, and goes to see what movies were playing. He sees the first Iron Man is on, and being the nerd he is, puts it on.

As he ate his dinner, and tried to watch his movie, but couldn't get his mind off Phil.

Why was this boy taking over his thoughts?
