Chapter 23 David's Night

David's POV:

"So you want me to take care of Lui for this week," Arlan said as I called him.

"Yeah can you dude I need to do something and he must not know," I said making sure that Lui isn't in the room.

"I mean what are you going to do that'll make him go against it," he asked and I sighed.

"I'm planning on working at Vanoss and Friends," I said making him go silent.

"You mean the restaurant with the robots," he asked.

"Yeah there," I said.

"I don't get how a children's restaurant will make Lui detest you to go," he said making me groan.

"Because several people disappeared working there especially the position I'm signing up for," I said.

"Oh but they claim to have nothing to do with the disappearance," he said.

"Well that's when your wrong. Tyler and now Marcel disappeared so I'm going to find out what happened to them," I said.

"I mean what makes sure that you won't disappear too," he said making scoff.

"Because I'm the best," I said and I heard Arlan laugh on the other end.

"Are you kidding me you crack under pressure bro," he said and I started to get angry.

"Fock you I'll prove it to you," I said and he sighs.

"I'm sorry David I'm just worried please be safe for Lui's sake," he said.

"I know I will please come and pick him up I really don't want him to see me go," I said.

"Don't worry dude I'll be there in fifteen minutes," he said and I hung up.

I took a deep breathe and put my phone in my back pocket. Ever since Marcel hadn't came home Lui would spend most of his time in the room. Maybe being out will clear his head a bit too and he likes Arlan so it's a plus. I knocked on his door and heard a quiet come in.

"Hey Lui how are you," I asked as he looked over to me.

He doesn't say anything and I sigh. I walk over to his bed and I sit right next to him. I decided to just lay next to him and he turned himself over so he would be facing my chest. I wrap my arms around him and he snuggles deeper to my chest.

"Why did he do it David," he said softly making me sigh again.

"I don't know Lui I don't know," I said and I feel him tremble in my arms.

"Hey Lui I need to leave town for the week and I don't trust you alone in the house," I said making him look up at me with tearful eyes.

"Take me with you," he said and I sighed.

"I'm sorry Lui but I can't I called Arlan over to come and pick you up," I said making him stiffen.

"So what you tell me now that your leaving and leaving me with Arlan you can't do this to me even after a week Marcel disappeared," he cried out making me slightly regret for doing this.

And I mean slightly. I care about Marcel as well don't get me wrong. But I feel like doing this, it will somehow lift this depressed state I have been in. I mean I called in earlier and they said I was accepted, so I can't back out now.

"I'm sorry Lui please I already packed for you Arlan will be here in five minutes," I said making him glare at me.

"Yeah whatever David," he said and he left my side.
