Chapter 39 It's all up to me

Luke's POV:

If there is one thing that I regret in my life is leaving Brian in Los Santos. I regret leaving in the first place. But my life was back in North Carolina. My other friends and family lived there and I was only going to stay for a week or two. But now returning, everything in town felt.... I don't know emptier.

The first stop I made was at Jonathan's house. I've been taking care of it since his disappearance but now I can't really afford his place and my place. I stop in front of the house to see a For Sale sign on it. I parked the car and got out of it. I walked towards the front door and unlocked it with the spare key I owned.

Opening the door, it let out a tiny creak as no one had been occupying it for months. Taking one look inside the now very empty clean home, I took a step in and walked around the vicinity. The last time I came here I had collected his things and stored them at my house. I contacted a salesperson hoping they would sell the house.

Walking around the empty home, I smile sadly at the memories that were soon going to be forgotten. Shaking my head, I walked back out of the house, locking it on my way out. The house was just a chapter in my life, now moving on to the newest one. I got back into my car and settled in. There was another destination in my mind when I started that car.

Sean had called me in a panic a week ago telling me that Brian had decided to work at the restaurant everyone seemed to disappear too. That they were in a call on his third night when he was suddenly stuck with a needle. I tried to calm down Sean but he was in hysteria.

So now heading over Brian's apartment, Sean asked me to see if he was home or not. I really don't know that guy to well, but he sounded really worried about Brian. I pulled up to the apartment building and found a parking space in the front. I parked the car and took off my seatbelt. I got out of the car and locked it.

Having a deja-vu moment, I walked into the building and asked the main attendance if a Brian Douglas lived here.

"Sorry sir but he hadn't paid his apartment for the month and when we checked up on him he was never there so we had to clean out the apartment. We still have his stuff incase he ever came back," the attendant said and I sighed.

"I'm a friend of his and another friend of his wanted me to check up on him," I said and he nods.

"Well I can give you his stuff and I'll tell him you have it," he said as he pulled out two medium size boxes.

"Thanks," I said grabbing them.

I left the building having this bad feeling in my heart. He didn't make it, like Lui and Arlan, or hell even anybody else who was stupid enough to work at the restaurant. I put his things in my trunk and I heard my stomach rumble. I sighed and got into my car.

After doing the safety procedures, I drove around to see if I could find a place to eat. I'm in the mood for some pizza and there wasn't anything really close to me. Well the closest pizza place was Vanoss and Friends. Groaning, I made my way to the restaurant hoping that I wouldn't stay for long.

Luckily finding parking, since it's the end of the weekend, I locked my car and walked in the establishment. Apparently grown ass men walking into this restaurant was a normal thing as not a lot of people stared at me when I entered.

"Are you here for the job opportunity," the hostess, Dially, said.

"No I'm in the craving for pizza and this was the nearest shop," I said and she nods her head.

"Ah yes well if you please would sit over in the booths and the chef will help you there," Dially did pointing towards the bar like area.

I nod my head and I sat on a booth like chair. I didn't have to wait long as the chef, named Lazy, came up to me with a menu.

"Welcome to Vanoss and Friends I'll be your chef for today would you like any drinks," she said as I looked through the menu.

"Yeah I'd like a root beer," I said.

"Would you want actually beer in that," she said and I looked at her weirdly.

"I'm just playing with you. We are a child restaurant of course we wouldn't have beer psssssh your crazy," she said as she filled a cup with it.

"Thanks," I said slowly and she just smiles.

"Is there anything that you want from there because I burn everything," she said and I chuckled.

"Yeah I just take three slices of meat lover pizza," I said.

"You like meat ay," she said heading for the back.

"I'm a man of course," I said and she laughs.

"Well Dia likes meat and she isn't a man," she said placing the plate of pizza in front of me.

"Thank god for break Lazyyyy the usual," Dially said taking the seat next to me.

Lazy winks at her as she starts to set her plate up.

"So what's up," Dially said as she turned to me.

"I looked over the menu and some items were interesting," I said grabbing the menu.

"Oh yeah themed meals like Sharklirious Cheeseburger. I prefer Wildcats Grandma Sandwich," she said as she got her burger.

"Lui's Banana Split," I said and she laughs.

"Yeah since Lui is a monkey," she said.

"Hoodini Special, Early Bird Salad, Mini Dogs, Daith De Pizza, BasicallyIDoCake, Terrorised Chicken, and Droidd's Tacos," I said and she nods her head.

"Yeah a special meal each for the animatronics, but enough about the restaurant what are you doing around these parts," Dially said as she took a bite of her burger.

"I was visiting some old friends," I said thinking that this maybe the only way to get answers.

"Cool what they're names," she said and I smiled at her.

"Jonathan and Brian have you heard of them because they went missing," I said and she starts to choke.

"Ma Queen are you okay," Lazy said trying to help her.

"Yeah I'm fine Lazy just what he said caught me off guard," she said as she looked back at me.

"Alright well I have to head back to the kitchen be careful okay," Lazy said and she nods.

"So do you," I said and she sighs.

"Well I can't explain here and I'm only available at night but that's to talk to the Night Guard Employees," she said and I raised my eyebrow at her.

"Why is that," I said and she looks over her shoulder to stare at the robots.

"Alright but the only way I can get answer is to work here," I said and she nods.

"Where do I sign up then," I said and she smiles.

"Alright just sign here and you can start today," she said pulling out a contract and a pen.

"Weird but okay," I said and signed it.

As she put it back in her pocket, I can't help but feel that I signed my death wish. Like its the last thing I'll ever do before dying.

"Well I'll see you tonight," she said as she got up and left.

What the hell did I sign up for?!

How long will Luke last? Will he beat all five nights or fluke it on a random night? Who knows.... Well I do lol
