Long Night: Annabeth

I was in utter joy.

I thought I would never say this, because I thought it would be too bias, but I have the best boyfriend ever.

Percy made it to the Summit - my boyfriend had completed what most demigods would think impossible. Then again, Percy was all about doing the impossible. He had been through Tartarus; he had been to the Ancient Lands twice now; he has become a successful marine biologist which had earned him millions in the past year or so; he had fought numerous Titan's and giant's; and now he has climbed Everest all the way to the top.

I stroked my stomach. Then I thought about what I would call the baby. At first, before I told Percy that I was hoping the baby would be a boy, I was thinking about a name for the baby if it turned out to be a girl. I wanted to call her Serenity, but now that I knew it was going to be a boy, I was now thinking of a boy's name. Maybe Sam? No - Sam Jackson Chase? Didn't sound right. Thomas...maybe Jacob?

While I was contemplating this, Piper walked in looking drawn out. "You still awake? Annabeth, you need sleep - it won't do you any good."

I knew she cared for my sake, but she could be bossy when she wanted to. I decided that maybe sleep would do me good, because all I was doing was thinking about Percy - my hero of a boyfriend.

I went upstairs and walked into mine and Percy's room, while Piper went into the room that belonged to her and Jason. Hazel slept in the spare room.

I looked in the mirror beside Percy's side of the bed - I definitley looked different now, from my bloated stomach. Just to be accurate, I stripped off all my outer clothing and looked at myself again in the mirror. I noticed the stretch marks on my skin and I started rubbing my stomach wondering what my baby was thinking.

I sighed. "You're getting heavier, you know that right?" I asked the baby, thinking once again that I sounded crazy. "God, I knew I've eaten too much today."

I suddenly felt tired. Just because I was warm, I stripped myself completely of clothes and climbed into bed. The material felt soft and cool, and because of this it helped me drift off into a peaceful sleep.

And the dream I had was of Percy.

I found myself woken up by the shuffling of sheets. I woke up groggily and turned around to see someone walk out of the room and down the staircase.

I knew it was memory - I wasn't pregnant at the time and I could feel the same things I felt back then: worry, concern and tiredness. Percy had been suffering severe sleeping problems ever since we escaped Tartarus years ago. I could tell that he still suffers those nightmarish flashbacks from our time in the pit. I got out of bed, wearing nothing but a night gown that ended halfway down my thighs and went downstairs.

I walked into the kitchen, my bare feet cold against the floorboards of the whole house. I looked around and I saw Percy sitting on the arm of the couch, glancing down at the carpet.

He was bare chested, his muscular six pack slightly sweaty. He wore nothing but PJ bottom's and his hair was ruffled from sleeping. He hasn't drooled in years - but his whole body posture looked very slumped over, as if he were in pain. Knowing that he was dreaming of Tartarus, he was probably experiencing phantom pains of some kind - I've heard about demigods getting those kind of pains while dreaming.

I walked over to him slowly, as not to startle him. I placed my hand gently on his bare shoulder. He didn't move his head to look at me, but he did place his hand on mine. He was shaking.

"Hey," I whispered, "what's wrong?"

He shook his head. "Nothing's wrong."

He was clearly lying, so I placed my other hand on his face. At my touch, he looked up and the look in his eyes almost tore my heart - they held so much pain. His sea green eyes looked so dull and so much darker than before.

"Annabeth, I'm alright," he told me. "I just had a bad dream, that's all."

"Tartarus?" I asked, saying the name as calmly as I could.

He hesitated, but nodded.

I knew he'd have the nightmares worse than I did - heck, I suffer them but with Percy being a child of one of the Big Three he'd have them ten times worse than anyone else did. His body might've regained it's original frame, and he doesn't get winded as much these days from breathing all of the sulphorus gas that he was exposed to in the pit; but the pyschological damage that he endured had obviously left him with some nasty dreams.

Just to relax him, I rested his head against my chest and placed my lips in his hair. He instantly breathed out a content sigh, knowing that I was there with him. He once told me that in his nightmares, he was alone in that hellhole and that I wasn't there to help him. It was clearly terrifying to him. I felt the coolness of his nervous breaths against my chest.

"I'm here, Seaweed Brain," I told him. "I'll always be here."

At the end of that sentence, he looked up at me. His eyes were now glowing with that usual fiery look his sea green irises casted. They were like the light in the darkness from where I was standing. Then slowly, after looking at him with a moments silence, I leaned down and kissed him.

Then, everything got more passionate. Percy stood up to his full height, completely over-towering me, whilst tracing his hands up my legs as he did so. He ended up removing my gown, and tossing it to one side. He picked me up and I found myself holding onto him by wrapping my arms around his neck and wrapping my legs around his powerful waist, my bare chest pressed against his. He started kissing my neck, and I let out a sigh, enjoying his cool breath on my neck. Using my feet, I dug them down the back of his pants and started moving them, which led to them falling down his legs. I gasped as his hips went in between my legs, making me let out a soft moan.

Next thing I knew, he was carrying me up to the room and lying me down on the mattress, kissing me still. Suddenly, I found myself sitting on top of him, straddling him with my bare legs. Bending over, I started kissing him deeply, while he placed one hand on my back and the other on my head as I moved up and down. We were both without clothes and we were just lying there in that room, ridding ourselves of the dread we both felt from the dark aura of the nightmares we both suffered.

How I missed his touch and the look he gave me that made me feel safe...

I woke up due to someone shaking me. I opened my eyes to see Piper looking at me, a small smile on her face.

"Hey, sleepy head," she said. "Come on, get up. You got two visitors."

I groaned, turning over so my bare back faced Piper. "Don't want to get up. I was having a great dream until you woke me up."

"Yeah well, I'm mean that way," Piper laughed. "C'mon, they're waiting for you."

"If it's Hera, tell her to piss off," I grumbled.

"It's your mom and Percy's mother," Piper said.

That made my eyes shoot open. I instantly jumped out of bed, and looked at Piper. "Are you serious?"

Piper covered her eyes. "Annabeth, you might want to put on some clothes."

I looked down at myself, noticing that I was completely naked. I rushed over to a nightstand and dressed into long PJ pant's and a white top. I threw my dressing gown on and went downstairs.

There, sitting in the living room was Sally and my mother, the goddess of wisdom.

"Hey, sorry that I took so long. I was having trouble waking -"

"Annabeth," Athena interrupted. She kept stealing glances at Percy's mother, who was looking exceptionally worried for some reason.

I looked between the two of them. "What's wrong?"

Sally glanced up to me. "Percy and the others who are on the mountain are in trouble."
