"SO IS SOMEONE gonna enjoy their last day being 13?" Scout grinned while giving Jude a slight nudge, only hearing a giggle from her in response.
The children of the BAU members sat in the chairs of the conference room with their parents around them as a pink box filled with sweet pastries was at the center of the table. The doughnuts were found only a few minutes ago with a small note that read 'A treat for my grandchildren.' It was signed by R and everyone knew exactly who it was. Except for Jude, that is.
"What?" Mikey gapped, dropping his jaw, "You're gonna be 14 tomorrow?"
"Yeah."
"Aww, man! I wish I was 14." Sighed Kiara, slouching herself in misery as she stated glumly, "But I'm not even 13 yet."
"That's a good thing, sweetie." Morgan snorted, still grinning away as he stated an impossible wish.
"And I hope you never turn 14."
"Fat chance, Pop." She stuck out her tongue teasingly, a display of rainbow colored sprinkles peaked out.
"I know what you mean though, Hun." Glumly sighed Garcia, while pulling her baby girl and resting her head on hers.
"Stop it, Mama." Kiara giggled, shoving away her mother as she playfully rolled her eyes. "Don't get all soppy now."
Scout grinned at the sight of their interaction before it turned mischievous as she remembered a detail from last year. She averted her attention to her daughter and gave her a small, knowing wink.
"Wasn't really thinkin', wasn't lookin', wasn't searching for an answer."
She sang a few words from 'Fly Love', a song she used to sing to Jude when she was merely a toddler. The teen tried to get away but blushed furiously when she was pulled into a tight hug and had to wait it out.
"Mom!" Jude laughed, trying to get her arms off from around her, watching as everyone chuckled at their behavior.
"In the moonlight, when I saw your face."
"Mom, no! No more singing."
"Saw you lookin' at me, saw you peeking out from under moon beams!"
Scout finished that verse before attacking her head with small pecks of kisses. The company laughed at the random playfulness the normally private woman was doing, but - this was her little girl and they have seen what she is like with her. When it came to Jude, her soft spot was on full display.
"Hahaha, Mom!" Jude was a much darker shade of pink as she whined in embarrassment, "You did that on purpose!"
"She loves me really, kids." Scout pouted playfully at the others as slumped back into her chair.
