"HOW DO YOU expect to waltz into the BAU headquarters, grab their attention, and not find yourself in handcuffs by the end?"

Scout rolled her eyes as she listened to the same rant Raphael had repeated throughout their trip to Virginia. It was getting tedious to hear him but he had good reason. She was just glad that his heart was in the right place.

"Raph, can we - can we not do this now? I really don't want to walk in there with a headache."

The older brunette sighed, pulling the rental car into the visitor parking lot of the FBI. She turned towards the backseat, seeing Jude preoccupied with her tablet and her hearing muffled by the music she was playing.

Raph grabbed her free hand, bringing the attention back to him, "Please - Scout, just tell me you have a plan. I know you. I know you're smart. But this - this is risky, even for you. What do you expect to accomplish with this?"

"I'm not an idiot," She pursed her lips.

"I'm just - improvising. Besides, you're doing easy work now. I just want you to promise me you'll stay in the car. Once you start seeing some commotion, I need you to get out of here, okay?"

Scout squeezed his hand, not saying anything else, and got out of the car. Walking around to the side, she knocked on the window and watched how it rolled down.

"Are we finally here?" Her daughter frowned at the parking garage, "I thought America was supposed to look nicer."

"That's called propaganda, Kid."

Pulling off her seatbelt, Jude began to open the door to get out but she was pushed back in. Scout shook her head and leaned into the car.

"I need you to stay here for me."

"But I thought we were going to do this together? You said you needed me -" She scoffed and tried to opened the door again but Scout slammed it shut.

"I can handle this by myself."

"But - But what if you need backup? I can protect you! I brought my knives with me!"

Scout narrowed her eyes, "You told me that you left them back at home."

The young teen sheepishly smiled and began to roll her window back up, signaling that she was in fact lying beforehand. Pulling the car door open, Scout cocked a brow at her daughter.

"I'll deal with you later, okay? Just stay out of trouble for me." She leaned in and pecked a kiss onto her forehead.

From what she saw, Quantico hadn't changed much throughout the years. It felt as though it was frozen in time from the last moment she had stepped into town. The same went for the BAU's headquarters. As she walked through the entrance, her legs moved forward in muscle memory.
