I'm trying hard not to become what I despise. The epitome of the American idiot. I don't want to be consumed by celebrities or television. I don't want to feel as if I've been brainwashed. But somehow I do.
People say I hate my country, but I only hate the idea of a 'redneck agenda'. If that is what America has become, then god help the rest of the world. Television isn't here to help us, it feeds us propaganda through a small electric box. We are being alienated by the people we trust, and can't make our own decisions anymore.
You don't have to be brainwashed, you can escape, but I can't. I'm the martyr of the human race. The one who is sacrificed to save others.
