💫Mabel's POV💫
Ford and I stumbled blindly in the labyrinth of bookshelves around us. We kept a steady pace, and I felt as though we were making some process in navigating. Although we may be in a sadistic demons home, utterly lost, and may have the said demon extremely angry at us, I still try to be optimistic.
I was actually amazed that Ford had come up with a light energy gun in a mere hour. It was quite impressive. It turned light of any kind into a blinding blast when nitrogen is added. The perfect makeshift weapon against demons, since only certain types of energy harm them. With these, it only blinded them for a short while.
We walked for a good amount of time, until Ford brought us to a stop.
"Alright, we should be good for now. But we don't have much time. That blast is only meant to last thirty minutes at most, so we need to hurry and find a way out of here." Ford said, putting his gun into his trench coat. "And if we don't find a way out, might as well explore...where ever we are right now."
He looked at the books surrounding us, and a bad feeling rose to the pit of my stomach. As he was looking, I saw a spark in his eyes that Dipper always used to get when he looked at the journals. Curiosity. I knew that Ford wanted to know more about Alcor, but was he really going to risk being caught just for information?
"I do not like that idea. We need to keep going and find a way out. Plus, we also need to save Paz, remember?" I question him.
"Pacifica can take care of herself. Besides, we might find out where she is by looking in these books" he takes out a black book with a gold spine from the shelf next him and opens it. "From the looks of it, most of these are memories. If we can just find recent ones, then maybe we can figure out where she is."
"Yeah, I guess your right" I sigh. There was really no arguing with him when he made up his mind. Just like Dipper. Sometimes, it pains me to be around Ford, just because of the similar parallels.
In defeat, I grab a book thats close to me. It a green covered book, with a slightly darker green covering the spine. On the cover is a faded yellow diamond, that, by the looks of it, is slowly starting to turn into a star.
Opening the book, I find a interesting scene to say the least. It shows Alcor in a barn, looking quite bored of the person infront of him. But on closer inspection, I wasn't really sure it was a person at all.
The so called person was short, and their skin tone was the same as the books color. Their head was in the shape of a triangle/diamond, and their attire looked like a jumpsuit. The person was quite flustered at the moment, as they were stomping around with their arms crossed.
I closed the book and put it back on the shelf, looking for another one around the same time period. That memory looked as if it was recent, so another fresh memory had to be by it, right?
I took another book off of the shelf, and this one looked very interesting. It was pure black, and only had the number five engraved into it in a metallic gold color. I opened the book, and this scenario was quite different.
Instead of Alcor looking bored and distant, he was smiling and intrigued. It looked as if he was on some sort of spaceship, and there were weird creatures in tubes that looked like they were talking to him. I didn't know what they were saying, but in the background, I saw earth, confirming that they were in some sort of spaceship.
Then, Alcor magically made a screen appear from no where. On it, there were videos of disasters that were all numbered. The first one showed an areiel view of earth from space. Then suddenly, all of the electricity that the whole world was using stopped, leaving the world dark.
That faded out, and the second video appeared. It showed tsunamis off enormous sizes, and an earthquake that trumped all of the ones in earth's history.
Again, that faded out. The third video simply showed flocks of birds flying, and multiple bloodied body bags.
Then, it faded and showed a simple stereotypical army man with a rifle. His face was square with a scruffy beard and a small scar on his chin.
The last slide showed children, varying in ages, on a battle field at night. Explosions sounded in the distance, and the children fought it with gun fire.
Quickly, I closed the book and placed it back on the shelf. I could barely imagine what it would be like to like in that world. Fighting at the age of fourteen or younger? In a apocalyptic wasteland? Even I couldn't handle that.
I turned back to ask Ford if he found anything useful, but I was met with a wall of books. Panic starting to rise in my chest, I looked down the isle, and found no trace of Ford.
"Ford?" I whisper yelled, which sounded like a full blown yell in the stillness of the library of memories. "Ford, where did you go?" I said again, with more panic rising.
All of it dispersed when I heard a reply.
"Mabel, come over here." Said Ford. Following the direction of the voice, I entered a large open cavern. In the middle, there was a assortment of instruments on a stage, along with a desk which Ford was inspecting. Above me was a assortment of stars and galaxies, all swirling in different directions in an almost mesmerizing way. The big Dipper danced across the sky, making me look away from the galaxies and back to Ford with a pang of sadness.
I walked up to Ford, and saw various papers in his hands. Some looked as though they were printed, and some hand written with the ink and feather on his desk. Most of the papers were song lyrics from Alcors hit songs, but others were something more.
One of them in particular peaked my interest. It was labeled 'Weirdmaggeddon', and slightly stood out from the others. Before I could pick it up to investigate however, I felt a unpleasant presence enter the room.
Twisting around, I was greeted by Alcor, and he did not looked pleased that we were looking through his things.
I elbowed Ford in the ribs. "Um, Ford..." I said, a sudden fear for the demon arising.
He looked at me first, then looked at what I was. His eyes widened and he reached for his gun. Before he could grab it though, it was brought out of his coat enveloped in a gold aura. It was now pointed at us with the safety trigger off.
"It's not really nice to pry around someone's study without their permission." Alcor said smuggly.
"You don't deserve anything nice from us." Ford said, putting me behind him again. A sudden fear had developed for the demon, but it was only a small fear from what I had seen in the book that I'd seen labeled five.
"I know I don't, but I could have just killed you when you found out I was a demon, but I didn't. You could show some gratitude for that."
"Never. But that's brings me to a question, why didn't you kill us?" Ford asked the demon.
"I still need you for the plan."
"You mean Weirdmaggeddon?"
Ford and Alcor both stared at me, suprised that I had entered the conversation. To be perfectly honest, I didn't even realize those words came out of my mouth until they stared at me. I sunk farther behind Ford, trying to make myself invisible.
Alcors eyes then became a dark red. His wings that were coming out of his lower back started to crack, and small a golden light came out of those cracks.
Then, almost as if it had never happened, it disappeared. He sighed as he closed his eyes and pinched the brink of his nose.
"No, Weirdmaggeddon is a totally different plan that I hope never happens. But, it's prophasised that it will, so i can't get my hopes up too high. You two are going to be used for a different plan." he said simply.
"Like what?" Ford asked him cautiously after seeing Alcors reaction to the previous questioned.
"It's a much simpler plan than Weirdmaggeddon, I'll tell you that."
"Like what?" Ford asked more intensely.
"You really want to know?" Alcor replied, eyes hinting at a shade of red forming.
"I'm trying to bring the old pinetree back. So, would you please do me a small favor and go back to your rooms like good little mortals?"
