Chapter 2

Ring ring

My alarm went off. I woke up and to my surprise, Katherine was not there. 

"I guess she went back to her room" I went to the washroom, brushed my teeth, got into the shower and gently washed my hair.

As I came out of the washroom I dry my hair and choose to wear a simple white t-shirt and black cropped jeans.

I reach school as always and make my way to my first class, Human Rights. Today our topic was on women and how they are treated in today's society. We had to share our views and now it was my turn to speak.

"I think the harassment towards women should end. Nowadays, it's hard for women to even step out of their house without getting harassed."I forced myself to say these words as I'm not a talkative person. In my class, I'm the quietest person you could ever find.

"Well as your assignment I want all of you to prepare an investigatory project of women harassment in India, as I know the school is sending you all to India for a historical camp, I think this project would be easy to do. Best of luck!"

Now that you all know that why I'm going to India, the one direction concert is going to take place in India! So that is awesome, but if I want to go to their concert I have to audition in Milton Keynes.

J- Hey Karin!

K- hey!

J- You know tomorrow is the audition right?

K- Ya....

E- Hey guys!

K- hey!

E- I picked out an outfit for you

K- why?

E- for the audition silly

K- thanks Emily!

J- hey I gotta go bye!

E- BYE!

K- see you tomorrow! :)

"Karin, I'm home!" Yay! It was my mom she finally came home I was starving! "Mom! I really want to eat 'basin ke ladoo'! Can you make some?" I asked with puppy dog eyes. "Of course, tu abi baiht main munh, haath dokar aati hoon." (you sit down, I'll clean myself and come)

I sat down on my sofa turned on the TV and went on to watch my favourite channel: Zee TV. It was currently playing 'Kumkum Bhagya'. I was so into watching that show that I actually forgot to tell my mom about the audition!

"Mom, I want to audition for a singing competition... Can I?" I asked unsure of what the answer might be. "Wow, that's great news!"She replied with a really big smile, which reached her eyes."Thank you so much!" "When is the audition?", "It is tomorrow." Suddenly her expression changed into a big frown, "Oh dear, I'm so sorry. I have to leave for Italy tomorrow, I won't be there on your big day." "It's alright I tell you if I have any big news. And anyways, I'm going to India the next day.. so it's alright."I tried to cheer her up.

-------------------NEXT DAY------------------------

Yawn 

"Oh my god!" I shouted out, so loud that my came running to my room.

"Dear, what happened?"she asked. 

"Nothing mom, I just realized that my audition is today." I giggled as she left the room.

Just then I received a text message from Colette. I hurriedly took my phone and ran out to the balcony.
