Chapter 1

Hey there! I'm Karin. So as you know that Valentine's Day is around the corner, people start dreaming when their true love would come,blah blah blah. For me, all this was just a waste of time, I mean who would be so foolish to think about all this stuff! This is my story and how my life changed...

Dear Diary,

   Finally, I woke up thinking about Amanda! Although she was my best friend, she should not have treated me like her puppet..Don't know how I'm going to face her in school today, hope everything goes well!

"Bag.. check! Breakfast ..check! Um... what else am I missing ?"I said. I didn't exactly remember so I sat on my couch thinking. Just then I heard my ride arrive. I ran out as fast I could grabbing all my belongings, lock my door, and reached there just in time before it left..like always.

"Hey Karin! Come sit here"Joseph said. He was a nice kid and a good friend of mine. "Hey! So finished the bio assignment?"I asked knowing that he forgot.

"Oh shit! I can I borrow yours?"he asked in his fake British accent. "Of course" I replied giggling, "But you don't need to...I finished it!"he smirked.

I gasped, out of all the days when I actually made him an extra copy. He finished his assignment! What the hell!

The bus stopped abruptly, causing me to bang my head into the seat in front of me. "Ouch!" I exclaimed. Then I turned only to find the whole damn bus looking at me.

"What, haven't you seen someone hurt themselves!"I shouted.

What a great way to start the day!I started on my way to my class which is on the 4th floor. I finally reached my destination with back pain, which I guess was due to my heavy bag.

"Whew",I said taking in slow deep breaths. I walked to my class which was right next to Amanda's, I knew that I would regret seeing her face but there was no other way to get to class, so I took the risk.

"Karin!"

"I knew I would regret this" I mumbled to myself.

"Hey! I can't believe that you avoided me all weekend!" She was acting as if nothing happened, not that she knows, I found out the truth behind our friendship.

"Sorry! I had some errands to do" I lied hoping she'll buy it.

"You and errands, that doesn't sound like you." I let out a sigh, she knew me too well. Finally, the bell rang at the perfect timing.

"Looks like I gotta go, bye!" I ran as fast as I could. I mean who can tolerate a 'was-best-friend' who lies to them.

The first period was maths, 'Mentally Affected Teachers Harassing Students'. It was complete torture, not that I didn't like maths, it was our teacher who took our free periods to make it so torturing that sometimes I shiver just hearing the word 'MATHS'. But somehow I survive, and also manage to take down some notes.

"Hey Karin, got a pencil?" whispered the class's so-called popular dude- Jake. I ignored him as long as I could trying not to start a world war III, I mean first he asks me for help but when I need his help he acts like a jerk.

"Goddammit, Would you just stop bothering me!" I blurted out, way louder than I wanted to. All eyes turned to me

"Sorry Mam," hoping for our teacher to go back to teaching us, but no she had to ask me to stay for 10 minutes after class.

I turned around just in time to see Jake having a smirk plastered to his face. Oh, how I wish I could punch his face.

So I waited for my teacher to finish the class, "Yes mam, you asked to see me?"
