My Alarm clock went off and I woke to Tyler still cuddling me. I smiled because I liked waking up to him. I turned off my alarm and turned to face him.

“Morning” He said.

“Morning” I smiled.

“I Love this, waking up to you. Makes my day.” He says I smiled at this because I felt the same.  I had woken up properly now and the smile wipes off my face.

It was today.

“Maya are you ready?” Jennifer asks as I stand looking in the mirror brushing my hair. I was dressed but I wasn’t ready to leave. I wasn’t ready to say good bye. I wasn’t ready to bury my farther.

I put down the brush and walk down stairs. I hadn’t said a word since this morning and when I got out of bed and went straight into the shower Tyler understood that it was time to go.

“Maya, are you ready to go?” Mike asks me looking me in the eye. I still don’t say a word; I don’t even shake my head or nod it. I just walk straight out the front door and got into the car. Since it was a day’s car ride back to my old home we were taking the plane.  Jennifer and Tyler where coming along to, Mike was asked to be one of the guards so he was coming anyway. Jennifer and Tyler had asked if they could come and support me. I agreed that they could because they had become a big part of my life and I wanted them to meet my mother.  We had arrived at the airport and had priority check-in so we were in and through security in no time.  It didn’t take the 3 hours it normally would to get on the plane it only took half an hour and it was a 2 hour flight.  I had Tyler and Mike sat next to me on the plane. They tried to talk to me but I still didn’t talk back I just stared out the window. I wanted the time I went back home to be happy because the man that raped me was gone, I wanted to get back to my house and run into both my parents arms and to hug all of my friends. But that hope that dream had been ripped away from me by the monster that killed my farther.

The ride from the airport didn’t seem long at all. We had arrived at the church in no time. I jumped out of the car before anyone could stop me or talk to me I just wanted to find my mother.  I saw my mother talking to my aunt and I couldn’t help shout for her and run “MOMMA!!” I shouted as my feet took off.

“MOMMA!”

“MAYA” she shouts as she turns around running towards me also.

“MOMMA” I shout one last time as I reach her throwing my arms around her.

Tears streaming down my face now that my mom is holding me. I feel her tears hit my shoulder and we fall to the ground together sobbing.

“My baby….. I’ve missed you so much” she says pulling away holding my head in her hands “Baby I’ve missed you so much” she cries kissing me.

“I’ve missed you to momma!” I say pulling her in for a hug again.

I look around at the people behind my mother and they are crying, at first I thought it was because of what today was but when my aunt walks over and pulls me and my mom to our feet and says; “That was the most emotional thing I have ever seen, you two have made everyone cry.”  ; I realised they were crying at our reunion.

My mother hugs me again and I pull away walking her over to the people that I now lived with.

“Mom this is Mike, Jennifer, and Tyler. These are the people I’ve been staying with. They’ve become a really big part of my life.”
