Carly's P.O.V
"Take the next left," I ordered as Orlando drove down a cracked, pavement road. I observed the GPS as we zoomed down the road.
"Slow down," Jase suggested and glanced out the window. "We need to get there without alerting anyone."
"What exactly is your plan?" Orlando asked, ignoring Jase's comment.
"Call the police once we roll up and stall the thugs until the heat arrives," Ruth explained while slapping her hands together.
"Correct," I agreed and nodded with satisfaction. "Ruth's surprisingly doing well with this."
"Am I the only one that fears for Taren's life?!" Orlando shouted with frustration.
"We're on the same page," Jase added while raising his hand.
"Take the next left and follow the dirt road," I snapped and pointed to the entrance of the next road. "The warehouse should be at the end."
Orlando did as directed and we slowly rolled down the small dirt path. We quietly drove closer to the building and didn't speak out of uneasiness. As we pulled up to the side of the building, Orlando hid the car behind a giant dumpster. I exited the GPS app and dialed 911. I gave them the address and told them of the situation.
"Are you guys ready?" I announced as I hung up the phone before the operator could ask more questions.
"Ready as we'll ever be," Ruth answered with a thumbs up. I grinned and exited the vehicle with my three partners in crime.
My eyes scanned the area as I crept around the side of the building. Orlando followed behind me with Jase and Ruth in tow. I kept my footsteps light as I examined our surroundings. Everything was rusty and falling apart at the seams. I spotted a broken door and grabbed the handle of it.
"What are you doing?" Orlando whisper shouted at me. I mouthed shut up before pulling the door open. It made a loud screeching sound as I opened it wider. So much for being stealthy.
"Well," A voice laced with sarcasm greeted me. I glanced inside and my eyes landed on three guys sitting around a table. "If it isn't the star of the show."
"Busted," I muttered under my breath until I smiled widely. I motioned for the others to come in as I held the door open for them. "Always a pleasure to see you guys."
"What are you and your friends doing here?" He smirked and pushed off the stool he sat on. "Are you personally delivering my money?"
"It's already been wired to your account," I replied and quickly glanced over to see Taren tied up. "Can I have my friend back?"
"First, let me see if you held up your end of the deal," Michael said and clicked a few buttons on his phone before nodding with satisfaction.
"I can't believe you don't trust me after all these years." I teased with a fake gasped.
"Don't act surprised, Sweetheart," He chuckled and observed me. "Why'd you bring these two ballerinas?"
"Can you not count?" I chuckled and waved a hand behind me before slowly turning around. "There's obviously...two of them?"
"Where the hell's Aunt Ruth?" Orlando whispered as panic began to sink in. My eyes widened but I took a deep breath before turning to Michael.
"Did you lose something?" Michael smirked and crossed his tattoo-sleeved arms.
"I'm just teasing you," I replied and fake smiled.
"TAKE THIS SUCKERS!" A booming voice shouted from the other side of the room. Ruth stood there with a gun pointed at the three guys.
"TAKE COVER!" One of them shouted and lunged to the floor. Shots rang out as Orlando, Jase, and I scattered. I hid behind a metal machine as bullets hit steel and clanked when they made contact. Jase squirmed on the floor over to Taren who was trying to duck down. Thanks, Aunt Ruth!
Taren's P.O.V
"Taren!" Jase shouted as he army crawled over to me. I squirmed and tried to yank my hands-free.
"A little help here!" I replied as I squirmed uncomfortably. Jase reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He began cutting the tape.
"Are you okay?" Jase asked as he grunted in frustration.
"I'd feel a lot better if bullets weren't flying around the room." I answered and tossed my body to the side. A bullet bounced off the table next to me with a small spark.
"Almost got it," Jase reassured and my hands were soon freed. I rubbed my wrists and let out a sigh of relief. Jase gave Carly and Orlando a thumbs up. "I got Taren!"
"Get down!" Orlando ordered but it was too late. A bullet lodged itself in Jase's right shoulder and he cringed before falling to the floor. I bent down at his side as his shirt become soaked in blood.
"This grandma's crazy, man!" One of the guys shouted and ran for the door. He opened it to a SWAT team holding big guns.
"Everybody put your weapons down!" The leader ordered as they inched forward. The three guys fell to their knees and Aunt Ruth placed her gun on the floor.
"Jase," I breathed out and cupped his face. His eyes stared into mine longingly. "Stay with me."
"I'm not going anywhere." He whispered and smiled. A smile plastered itself on my face and I kissed his cheek.

"Thank you," I said as I jumped out the back of the ambulance. The nurse needed to check me for any injuries.
"Anything?" Orlando asked as he strolled over to me.
"I'm alright," I stated and twirled around to show him I didn't have any injuries. "What about you?"
Orlando gingerly shoved off his leather jacket and revealed a bandage on his right arm. Blood soaked through and I cringed at the sight of it.
"Bullet wound," He explained and lightly groaned as he put his jacket back on. "I didn't even know I got shot."
"How did you not notice you got shot?" I chuckled and inched closer to him.
"My leather jacket's thick," Orlando nodded and flicked up his collar. "My biker style saved me."
"I still think you should throw that jacket away." I suggested as he placed a hand on my arm, pulling me closer.
"I'll consider it." He shrugged and stared down at me. His brown eyes burrowed into mine and our lips crashed into each other.
"Since when did this become a thing?" Taren questioned as she walked over with her hand intertwined with Jase's.
"It's a long story," Orlando answered and pulled Taren into a tight hug. "I've missed you, cousin."
"I'm just glad to be back," She confessed and turned to me. "It was an honor being you, Carly Hanson."
"And it was an honor being you, Taren Hanson," I stated and shook her hand.
"Can we go home now? I'm missing my afternoon soaps." Aunt Ruth shouted from her spot next to Jase's car.
We all made our way over to the car to head home. I'll finally be able to relax after almost a month of being someone else. I'm just glad I'm back to being me but meeting Orlando was a perk. It's time to change the judgmental, snotty person I use to be. This is the new Carly.
