Taren's P.O.V

"We have arrived at your destination." The foreign man announced and I grinned eagerly before hopping out of  the car. A big white mansion with gold detailing towered over me. A lady with blond hair strutted towards me from the opened entrance.

"Hello, Miss. Hanson. How was your flight?" The lady greeted and extended her hand to me.

"Where am I?" I blurted out and stared up at the gigantic house.

"Your fathers mansion?" Fiona explained, her smile never leaving her lips.

"My father?" I gawked at the idea. My father's the cheapest man I know. In the winter, my family has to wear our winter clothes around the house instead of turning on the heat.

"Is something wrong, Miss. Hanson?" Julia warily asked.

"This is unbelievable." I replied and shook my head.

"Well, your father is the 3rd richest man in America." Fiona chuckled.

"E-Excuse me?" I stuttered.

"Jet lag must have you off your game," Fiona began and motioned for me to follow her inside. "How about we fetch you a cup of tea?"

I couldn't form words once I saw the interior of the mansion. The walls were a lacy white and the floors were pink tinted marble tiles. Luxurious furniture was displayed everywhere, untouched by anyone. The rest of the staff lined themselves up, leading us to the staircase.

"I will see you to your room." Fiona announced and grabbed a clipboard from one of the staff. "Follow me."

Fiona's heels tapped up the staircase as I trailed behind. The walls were covered in framed painting that hung neatly along either side of the hallway. A girl that looked like me was wearing a pink dress, posing in one of the paintings. A second picture had a blonde man in a gray suit with a stern factual expression.

"Your room." Fiona grabbed the handle to the door at the end of the hall. The door opened to reveal a burst of pink. A white bed frame sat in the middle of two tall windows with light pink curtains. White wooden letters hung on the wall spelling out Carly. My name is definitely not Carly. I'm guessing this is a case of mistaken identity.

Carly's P.O.V

The old lady pulled into the driveway of a two story house that was painted a dull yellow. A large untamable garden grew behind a broken white fence and vines climbed up the side of the house.

"It hasn't changed since your last visit or at least I think not?" The old lady stuttered and struggled to maintain her memory.

"Where are we?" I asked, annoyed with this whole situation.

"We're in Santa Monica or is it Hollywood?" The old lady pondered.

"Who even are you anyways?" I asked and unbuckled my seat belt.

"I'm your Aunt Ruth, Sweetheart." Ruth reached over and squeezed my cheeks. I climbed out of the car and scanned the surroundings neighborhood. Those men won't even think of searching in the slumps of California. I was safe for now. I walked up to the house and popped open the door.

"Did I forget to lock the door again?" Ruth chuckled and closed it behind me.

"Welcome back, Taren." She smiled and hugged me.

"Who's Taren?" I questioned and pulled away.

"My great granddaughter. There's a picture of her, I mean you." Ruth pointed to the nearest wall. It was a school photo of a girl who looked just like me if; I was poor and average. She wore an orange shirt with a jean jacket over it. That's so four seasons ago.

"Look lady, I'm not your granddaughter," I stated and inspected the photo more closely. "I'm the daughter of a billionaire, Carly Hanson."

"Don't you have a big imagination." Ruth giggled before coughing uncontrollably. She managed to catch her breath and slowly trotted past me.

I sighed and decided to explore upstairs. Doors lined the long hallway as I walked to the one at the end. The room was painted brown with a twin sized bed and a basket full of stuffed animals in the corner. Not much of a mansion. Clanking metal sounded from the window and I glanced out to see a junker car pull into the drive way. A black haird boy, he looked a year or two older than me, limped out of the car. Saggy pants were lazily held up by a lose belt around his waist.

The front door creaked open and muffled voices sounded from the living room. Foot steps patted up the stair and the boy with the black hair, appeared in the doorway. Dimples caved into the sides of his cheeks as he grinned. The boy picked me up into a hug and spun me around.

"I've missed you so much, Taren!" He greeted and set me down.

"Who are you, again?" I blurted out without thinking.

"I'm your cousin, loser," He opened up his arms for another hug. When I didn't budge, his hand fell to his sides and he stuffed his hands in his pockets. "Orlando."

"I always though Orland was a city of diversity and landscapes in the heart of Florida. Not a name." I crossed my arms over my chest and Orlando gave me a confused look. His eyes scanned my body as if he didn't believe I was really standing there.

"You're acting strange" He pointed at me and cocked his eyebrows. I could tell that this was going to be a long summer.
