Taren's P.O.V
"And you left before you could confess your feelings for him?" Orlando slowly asked after I informed him about Jase.
"I couldn't have," I sighed as we walked down the sidewalk. We decided to take a walk around LA to enjoy the warm weather. "I can't drop a bomb like that and up an leave. That wouldn't be fair to him."
"Why don't you call Carly and see what she can do?" Orlando suggested, shoving his hands into his jean pockets.
"I don't want to have any contact with that brat ever again," I confessed and held up my hands for emphasis. "Besides, she hates him and long-distance relationships never work out."
"If you two try hard enough, you can make it work." He breathed out as we rounded a corner into a long, deserted alleyway.
"I'm not sure if he would be okay with that and I don't want to get too attached just to end up heart-broken."
"You have to take a risk, Taren." Orlando stopped in his tracks, grabbing my arm.
"I don't take risks." I shyly mumbled and pushed a strand of hair behind my ear.
"The only reason you came to California was to go on an adventure!" Orlando shouted with a giant grin. I looked off into the distance and saw two men turn down the other end of the alley. They probably think he's a crazy person for yelling. "You have to do things out of your comfort zone if you ever want to go on an actual adventure!"
"You're right," I stated and crossed my arms. "But I'm not taking a risk on love."
"You're a stubborn one." Orlando teased and messed up my hair. I laughed and pushed him away playfully.
My mouth opened to respond when a black van screeched to a halt beside me. The two men walking down the alley grabbed Orlando's arms to restrain him. I began to panic when a hand covered my mouth and someone's arm looped around my waist. My words came out muffled as I was yanked violently into the car.
"Taren!" Orlando shouted and tried wiggling out of the two men's grasp. One of them punched him in the face before he fell to the floor.
"Get in!" A man yelled as the two men jumped into the car and we zoomed off.
Oh god, I'm going to die.
Carly's P.O.V
"Get off my porch," I demanded as Jase stood his ground. I managed to get him out the front door but he still refused to leave.
"If you tell me where Taren is, I'll leave you alone for the rest of your life." Jase offered.
"Tempting but-" My sentence was cut off by my phone ringing. Orlando's name flashed on the screen. I smirked and answered. "Are you done being a jerk? Or are you-"
"Taren's been kidnapped!" The panicky voice of Orlando greeted me. "I don't know what to do, she was here, and then there was this black van and-"
"Orlando!" I hollered to try and calm him down. "Start over and talk slowly."
"I think Taren was kidnapped by the same group of guys after your money."
"Oh god," I breathed out and ran back inside to grab my purse, leaving Jase unattended. "Meet me at your grandmother house in 10."
"Carly," Orlando shakily sighed. "They won't hurt her, will they?"
I could hear the desperation in his voice and it broke my heart. I strutted over to the front door and closed it behind me, Jase still standing there. "I won't let anyone hurt Taren, alright? I'll see you soon."
"What's wrong with Taren?" Jase worriedly asked as I made my way to the garage.
"I don't have time to explain," I waved him off and opened the garage door to see an empty lot. "Where the hell is my car?"
"I'll drive!" Jase yelled and raced down the driveway to head next door to get his car.
I'm going to kill him.
Taren's P.O.V
Tears ran down my face as the men tied my hands and feet together. They slapped a piece of duct tape over my mouth so I couldn't scream or talk. I had no idea who's these men were but I have a feeling this has something to do with-
"Carly!" One of the men greeted with a sly chuckle. I tried to reply but the tap restricted my words. "Nice to see you again."
The car soon came to a screeching stop and the door flew open. The two men carried me outside and into this old wear house. The paint was faded and the land around it was dry.
"When should we call the bastard?" Another guy laughed and sat down on a stool at a table.
"Once they figure out she's gone," The man in the ski mask holding me replied. "We'll be bathing in money."
I needed to tell them who I was. My sentences sounded like gibberish and there was no getting through to them now. The men laughed at my attempt to talk and the leader took me over to a door and shoved me into a room. I fell forward and skid my hands against the concrete floor. I turned over to glance at the man and he tugged off his mask. His blond hair fell in front of his muscular face that had a grin plastered on it.
"You'll be home soon. We just want our money."
