I don't know what had gotten into me to eavesdrop on her conversation, but I had to know that he wouldn't hurt her.
He better not hurt her. Or he'll be the one hurt.
"I like you." He simply said as if it were nothing at all.
I grimaced. He said 'like' not love. God, I love her.
"But I don't feel the same." She told him in the same tone. I mentally gave a sigh of relief.
"Do you even love him?" He said him with as much venom in his voice as he could. I grimaced. Was I that bad of a person?
I heard a loud 'slap'. She must've hit him hard.
"Of course I loved him," she says, "you don't give people you don't love the power to destroy you."
She said loved, not love. So she really didn't feel the same.
She came around the corner and saw me.
Crap, guilt started to consume me.
"I-" I started, but was soon cut off by her.
"Me too." She already knew what I was going to say.
She always knew

He pulled away from our hug. It reminded me of her hugs. He ruffled my hair, and went back to searching the fridge.
"That's it?" I questioned curiously.
"What's it?" He threw back at me, dumbfounded.
"You just hug me, and that's it?"
"Hey, I actually hugged you, that's the most gay I've ever acted around you."
"So you're gay?"
"What? No, not that I have anything against gay people okay?"
"Whatever you say big brother." I started to bring my stuff to my room. I started to unpack.
But before I could start, he was standing in the doorway.
"Already know which one was yours, huh?"
"Yup" I said goofily.
"You can definitely read my mind, Josh."
"Pfft, yeah right, I guessed, chicken brains" He started laughing out loud.
"Oh, Joshie, I almost forgot that you don't curse, even though you're one heck of a scary guy at school."
"Oh shut it" I glared at him.
"And I see you're still stuck, though you don't act like it, I say your act is very convincing-"
"Than-" I was about to thank him, but he wasn't finished.
"-to some people, and not to me"
"Never mind." I mumbled.
"Ha! Josh, you have to stop living in the past, just get over it, it's not your fault, okay?"
Now, I was practically growling at him, "Its not that easy, Bent. It was my fault, if I didn't break her, it wouldn't have happened. You don't know what it feels like Bent."
"Actually, I do. Joshua." Usually when he was truly angered, he called someone by their full name. Uh oh. "You have no idea" He chuckled, but I knew it was forced.
He ran his hands through his hair. It was a nervous habit of his.
"You have no absolute clue" He glared at me. I cowered in fear. Bent was one of the people who could actually scare me to death.
