I walked around with my hands clasped behind my back. I wasn't that interested in the festival, and I guess Terragon could tell. We walked down the streets looking at the shops and stands that were open.Terragon was wearing a silver tunic that showed his physic. It looked very dashing on him, just like almost anything he wore. As for me, I wore a simple tunic with wool leggings and boots. I had a cloak wrapped around to keep me warm.
Terragon took my hand. "Kava, you look rather glum."
I sighed. "Sorry, it's just, I have a bad feeling tonight. A feeling that something is going to happen and it won't be good."
Terragon stopped walking and pulled me aside. He put both his hands on my face. "Nothing bad will happen tonight. So take a deep breath and just have fun okay?"
I nodded and smiled. "Okay. I can do this."
Terragon smiled and kissed me softly. "That's my girl. Now c'mon I want to show you something."
I let him pull me through the streets. Terragon was right. There was nothing to worry about. I was just being paranoid for nothing. I clamped my hand around the amulet in reassurance. After the festival we would leave and destroy it. Everything will be fine.
"Here. You need to try this."
"What is-oof." Terragon shoved something in my mouth. I chewed and my face brightened up. "What is this? It's really good!"
Terragon smiled. "It's a nectar pastry. It's made from a flower that's located in the southern part of Thalidien."
"It's delicious."
Terragon smiled. "I knew you would like it." He pulled my hand and our faces were close. My eyes widened and I looked at him. He chuckled. "You know, you taste sweet like the nectar." He kissed my neck and moved up to my lips. The sugar from the pastry tasted sweet and mixed in with his smell making me dizzy. My heart was beating quickly, and butterflies erupted in my stomach. We pulled apart to breathe, then he grabbed my hand. "Let's go somewhere more private."
I followed him willingly and I found myself on the side of a house in an alley way. His lips automatically found mine and I was intwined with him. I ran my hands in his hair and down his neck. I pulled on his hair, and he growled. "Love, if you keep doing that, then I'm not going to be able to resist you anymore."
Suddenly, we heard a warning bell. He pulled away from me and stepped in front of me. "What the hell.." He trailed off. Then I saw it. There was a fire spreading through the city, not only that but-
"Warrens men are here." Quickly, I pulled the amulet off of my neck, along with a piece of fabric from my cloak. I wrapped the amulet in it and shoved it in a pocket in Terragon's tunic. "Keep that with you and see to it that you get it destroyed. Remember you can't touch it or else it will burn you." I kissed his lips for one last brief moment. I looked into his eyes. "Terragon no matter what you do, just get that amulet destroyed." I turned to leave but he pulled on my arm.
"Kava, what are you doing?"
I looked at him. "He's after me. I'm going to give him what he wants so he will stop terrorising your kingdom." Terragon didn't let go. His eyes were full of pain and I could sense his sadness. My eyes softened and I looked at him. "Terragon, you need to let me do this. Get that amulet destroyed. I need to face Warren once and for all. I need to stop running away." I looked away from him and coughed. I would've fallen to the ground had he not been holding my arm.
He looked at me worriedly. "I can't let you go. Not when you're this sick."
I smiled sadly. "Before you know it, I'll see you again okay?" I intertwined my pinky finger with his. "I promise I'll come back." I gave him one last kiss. Tears streamed my cheeks. "You know me, I always fight back." I backed away and pulled the cloak hood over my head. I turned around and ran around the corner. I ran right up to the first guard I saw.
"Hey over here!" I jumped and waved my arms. I pulled down my hood and ran away from the alley that Terragon was in. "Come and catch me!" I wheezed and threw up more blood. I wiped my chin with my sleeve and smirked. As more and more guards chased me, I was running out of air and energy.
Pretty soon I came to a dead end and the guards had their swords drawn. I leaned against the wall and started coughing. I slid to the floor, as my legs could no longer hold my body up. I hacked and hacked as the guards just watched.
"My, my, isn't this a lovely sight to see." I looked up slowly and wiped the blood from my chin. I sat up and leaned against the wall.
I was breathing heavily and slowly. My voice was strained, it looked like I had fought over my limit, but I hadn't. I went to pull out my sword, but I winced. "W-who are you?" I didn't recognise the man.
He was tall and broad shouldered. He carried a spear in his hand, which I assumed was his main weapon. A smirk was placed on his lips. "I'm here to take you back to Galeilth."
I threw my swords to the ground. "Fine then take me. I surrender."
The man raised his eyebrow. "It's that easy? I was expecting a fight."
I smiled thinly. "Does it look like I'm able to fight? However, if you want to kill me then go ahead. I don't have any regrets."
The man scoffed. "Arrest her. We are bringing her to Warren.
The last thing I remember is being hoisted up, with my arms tied. I whispered one word before I fell into unconsciousness. "Terragon..."
