My phone vibrated and I looked to see it was a message from my best friend Carolina. She’s been my best friend since seventh grade.
-Come out to the fair. We’ll be waiting for you. (:
I changed into a black tin top and comfortable jeans, and old converse. I looked into the mirror to see my wavy light brown hair, and no make up face. Blue almost grey eyes.
I put on my two bracelets that my two best friends gave me. Lily’s is red with green designs. Carolina’s is white as snow, with blue designs. Lily has been my best friend two months later, from when I meet Carolina.
As the bracelets they are different. Not only there looks but their personalities. Carolina is shy and nice, while lily is not so nice, a rebel. I would guess it balances out in some ways. Not wanting to waist any more time, I run my fingers though my hair.
As I walked down stairs in a hurry my mother’s voice stopped me half way.
“Where are you going?”
I looked at her as she was still in her suit, hair still in a bun. She barely got here; by the way she had her shoes on.
“To the fair, I was to call you on the phone to tell you, but I didn’t want to bother you.” I said. “I’d thought you’d be home late.” I said. She took off her shoes and let loose her hair.
“They let us get out early, I don’t know why.” She said. She flopped down on the floor, closing her eyes. She was tired enough to sleep on cold hard floor.
I went over and gently put her on the couch, her legs hanging out. I kissed her forehead and went out the door. The fair wasn’t far away, maybe ten minutes walking.
I stood their looking around, trying to spot them. I felt someone grab my waist enough to make my jump. I turned around to see lily smiling. She had a habit of doing that. I smacked her arm while she laughed.
Her black hair went on her face covering her green eyes. Carolina followed up behind her smiling up at me, her blue eyes sparkling, and her hair almost white. Carolina wore white pants and a dark blue shirt. Lily wore a red shirt and black pants. Lily is almost as tall as me while Carolina is short.
“You look good, Irene.” Lily said, putting her arm around me. She led me towards the fairest wheel. Carolina followed behind.
“We need another person, if we want to go to the fairest wheel.” Lily said. “Sidney?” She said after a while. I looked at Carolina who glared at Lily. Lily ignored her death glare and went over to Sidney. I saw as Lily gave her a small smile and told her something. Sidney looked over at me her dark brown hair down. She was wearing a shirt that had selve torn off. Some ripped shorts that showed her legs. Sidney was the person everybody wanted to hang out with at school.
Sidney smiled and then told the guy she was with something. He just nodded and walked away. They both came our way, both smiling at us.
As we waited in line I noticed Sidney staring at me. At first I ignored it, and then it became awkward. I just looked around seeing the little kids with their parents. I saw couples sharing popcorn, people laughing and taking pictures.
We all got in, Lily next to Sidney. Sidney was facing Carolina who was next to me.
I looked at the sunset, it made the sky and clouds change color. The colors were pink, purple, and golden. It looked like a painting made from angles. If only my father could see this.
Like the old times. Every sunset we watched together on the roof top of our house. My father would hold me in his arms and whispered; I Love you, my daughter, my love, forever. He said those words each passing day on that roof top. Only four years old and I perfectly knew what those words meant. I love you too, daddy.I would say back each time.
I felt like there was more too it, always saying my daughter, my love.
“I love you too daddy! Please don’t leave me!” My child hood voice said screaming. I felt my hairs stand up as those words pierce though. I felt loneliness afterward shake my body. I felt the pain those words brought. My heart started to feel heavy, my fingers shaking.
I opened my eyes to see my fingers weren’t shaking and the sunset was already gone. I love you, my daughter. Those words went through my head again. We have already gone through once, yet the old man let us go again.
“So what’s the real reason you brought me here?” Sidney said. Her voice electrifying, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. She had an aroma around, screaming danger. The fairest wheel stopped with screeching sound. She laughed which only gave my goose bumps.
I watched shocked as she simply took off the metal bar from her lap, like it was a bug. Her eyes looked into mine and she licked her lips. Creepily, she flung at me.
