Emily's POV

I woke up to the annoying beep of my alarm clock. Why was I even up at 6:30 in the first place? Oh, right. Babysitting.

I dragged myself out of bed and made myself look presentable. Meaning, putting on denim shorts, a t-shirt from my mom's office, and throwing my hair in a ponytail.

Drearily, I walked to the kitchen. I grabbed a bottle of ice water, drinking it quickly. My eyes shot open. There, that did the trick.

I crept down the stairs, trying not to wake anybody up. I'm sure they'd appreciate it, seeing as it was only 6:48.

Slipping into the garage, I searched around for the plastic baseball bat, baseball, and tee. I quickly snuck outside, setting up the badminton net over the driveway. Pausing, I thought over the sports they liked. Tossing a basketball and a pogo stick into the pile, I headed outside.

I dropped the basketball by the hoop, set down rackets and birdies under the net, and stood up the batting tee. Leaning the pogo stick against the wall, I surveyed my work. That should keep them entertained for a few hours.

I decided to try out the baseball set. My dad had gotten it for me years ago, we just never got rid of it.

After 7 strikes, I started to wonder why.

Wow I really failed at baseball.

Next I tried basketball. I could usually shoot a few two-pointers once I got warmed up.

"What are you doing?" I heard Niall ask, throwing off my aim. It clanged off the rim.

"Dang it! I had that one!" I chased after the ball. Walking, because I don't run.

"That doesn't explain what you're doing." he pointed out.

"I told you I was babysitting today. Not my fault the kid loves sports I'm horrible at." Something clicked in my mind. "Speaking of sports I'm not good at..." I disappeared back into the garage and came out with a soccer ball and a football.

"How long have you been up?" he asked, laughing at my failed attempt to juggle them.

I glanced at the clock. "An hour."

He raised his eyebrows. "Why did you get up at 6:30?"

"Because they're gonna be here at 8. I had to prep myself." I explained, picking up a racket and a birdie. Finally, something I was good at. "Wanna play?"

"Won't someone see?" Niall looked around nervously.

I shook my head. "Maddy's at her cousin's until 4, and the rest if the neighbors don't know or care."

He shrugged. I saw Harry walk up behind him, rubbing his eyes sleepily. "Can you two lovebirds keep it down? Some of us are trying to sleep."

Throwing the birdie in the air, I whacked it hard. I giggled when it hit the target: Harry's face. "Oops! It slipped." I smirked.

Harry narrowed his eyes and ran out, grabbing a racket and getting in a ready stance on the opposite side of the net. "Oh it's on."

Niall laughed and yelled into the basement. "Badminton tournament! All are welcome to join!"

It was me, Niall, and Louis, against Harry, Zayn, and Liam.

We dominated. I chuckled at their gaping mouths. "Don't challenge the champion." I flung my racket in the air and watched it twirl before catching it. "That was fun. Play again sometime?"

Just then, a car pulled up into the driveway. "Emily!" Two small children ran towards me.

"Rhino! Kaykay!" I laughed as they clung to my legs. I looked down. "We're wearing the same shirt." I noted. their mom worked with my mom, so they got one too.
