Emily's POV
"WAKE UP, EMILY! IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!" Vivian screamed.
"WHY ARE YOU PELTING ME WITH CARROTS?" I swear. I have the strangest sister ever.
She stopped and shrugged. "I dunno."
I rolled my eyes and covered myself up with the blanket again. "Go away!" Then her words sank in. I shot up, throwing the blanket off. "It's my birthday?!"
It was her turn to roll her eyes. "That's what I said." And with that, she walked away.
I jumped up, thankful that I had picked out my outfit the night before. Throwing on a blue and black striped top with a lace back and light denim shorts, I raced to the bathroom. Plugging in my headphones and putting my iPod on shuffle, I heated up my wand. I loved curling my hair. It may be girly, but it made me feel special.
Wow that sounded weird.
Anyway.
As I wound my hair around the warming metal, I sang along to the music pouring into my head, changing some of the lyrics to fit me better.
"Give you this, give you that.
Blow a kiss, take it back.
If I looked inside your brain,
I would find lots of things,
Clothes, shoes, chicken wings,
Stuff that's driving me insane."
I laughed at my stupid joke. I really took after my dad like that.
15 minutes later, my hair was in curls hanging around my face and over my shoulders. I looked pretty good, if I did say so myself. I went back to my room to pick up some shoes and heard the home phone ring. Glancing at the caller ID, I read Handset #1. "I'm up!" I yelled. The ringing stopped.
My parents' room was right across the hall, yet my dad was always too lazy to get up and knock on my door. I was also too late to get up and answer the phone after the second time he tried it.
My mother then decided to just walk into my room without knocking. Staring at my outfit, she shook her head disapprovingly. "Oh, Honey, it's gonna be like 60 degrees out today."
WELL WHY DIDN'T YA TELL ME EARLIER?! I wanted to scream at her. "Okay." was what I actually said.
She just stood there, staring at me. "So, whatcha doin'?"
"Trying to get changed. Can you go now?" I resisted the urge to shove her forcefully out the door as she slowly walked away.
I locked the door, leaning against it and sighing. Getting up, I swapped my shorts for skinny jeans and slipped on some silver flats.
"Em! We've gotta leave soon!" my dad yelled.
"Okay!" I ran downstairs and rapped on the wall loudly. "I'm here! Cover yourselves!" I walked in and saw them startled and sleepy, starting to sit up. I leaned against the wall. "Hiya."
"Hi." Niall yawned, stretching. I almost 'awed' at his adorableness.
"I'm going to church. Who wants to come?" I asked. Nobody answered. "I'm teaching Sunday School for the 3-5 year olds."
Liam raised his hand slowly and sleepily. "I'll go."
Louis, Niall and Harry nodded. "Zayn?" I asked. "I'll kick Jonny where it hurts." I suggested. "Not that I didn't want to in the first place." I added under my breath.
