Novemeber 9

Something's wrong, dear book.

I walked into the school looking for Dylan, and he wasn't there. I shook it off thinking maybe he was late. I opened my locker and there were notes all over it, saying "Vampire" and "Batgirl". I rolled my eyes, their insults were getting stupider. I slammed my door shut and leaned back against it, twiddling my thumbs. "Where is that boy?" I mumbled.

"Hey Avi!" Luke came up giving me a giant hug. I didn't give him one back, "Shut up." I growled. He backed away, hurt. I shook my head and stalked off. "Avi, what's the matter?" He cooed at my back. I turned on my heels, and bit my lip. "Hmm, lets see. Maybe this will tell you."

I glided up to the boy who has been my crush for years, he has brought me happiness and tears. He smirked as I pretended to go in to kiss him, as I was less then a few inches away from his lips, I brought my hand up and smacked him across the face. I left a red mark. "Thanks for being such a great friend." I sarcastically said. I smiled to see he was in pain. "Now you know how I feel." I snarled.

I heard some kids cheer. I glanced around the school halls, realizing we had drawn a crowd. Mostly nerds, but I still felt important. I strolled off holding my head up high. I saw a boy who was shunned as the class nerd. He had giant glasses, and he wore stripes and plaid. Everyone thought he was a geek, even I did. But today I saw him differently. I saw him as a boy in a big school, all alone with no friends.

I held my hand out to him, and said, "Come on. Lets go to class." His face was unexplainable. It was like happiness, curiosity, thankfulness, and nervousness all at once. He shakily put his hand on mine, questioning my motives.

Right then, I made an oath to be a friend to those without one. I know how they felt, lonely and excluded from everyone. Sometimes all you need to do is reach out a hand and help them.

I took him --nah-- I dragged him through the halls and we burst into the classroom early. The teacher who I had thought was a big meany, sighed as we sat down. I realized that she wasn't mean, we just didn't listen to her and made her job hard so she snapped at us. I smiled at her, and said "Goodmorning!" I felt like I had a new lens on life, and I was seeing things for what they really are.

We sat down in the very front of the room. The boy whose name was Anthony gave me a small smile as he slid into the desk next to mine. I gave a grin in return.

Right then, I felt a sudden sense of sadness. Then it hit me as I watched all the other students file in. "Where's Dylan??" I whispered. Anthony replied back, "Who?" I shrugged my shoulders. Maybe he was sick? As soon as the bell rang, I got up and yelled at Anthony, "BE RIGHT BACK." I bolted down the halls, searching for the boy. I ran into Clara, and for once in my life I was glad to see her. "CLARA!THANK THE LORD! WHERE IS DYLAN?" I screamed in tears.

She raised her eyebrows and replied

"Who??"
