After school the team takes over a burger joint. I sit with Max, his girlfriend and Kristin. We order and sit around.
"You ready for tonight?" Max asks drinking his soda.
"Hell yeah" I say and look at Kristin she is looking at her phone the looks at me. Only a few weeks till she leaves. I kiss her forehead and our food comes. I'm not letting her go. That's a promise.
....
I get dressed in the locker room and go over my playbook a few times before shutting it in my locker. I look around the room and have a huge smile on my face. We get on the field and defense is first. People scream my name as I go out.

I put us on the board with a touchdown. This game is going to be hard. Plainfield isn't going to give up too easily. By half time it's 18 to 21. Winning but that doesn't mean we will still be winning by the end. Kristin comes down to the field and kisses me on the sidelines. The band preforms and I talk to Kristin.
"Wait what do you mean?" I say feeling confused.
"My parents want to be leaving by Sunday evening." She says
"We only have to Weekend?" I ask grabbing her hand she nods.
"Go win for me." She says and kisses me. I go back out there and we win. Only letting the other team score a touchdown. 25-45. Kristin cheers and kisses me I put her on my shoulders and she squeals. I laugh. After I get undressed we go to her house and lay in her bed.
"I'm sorry." She says and squeeze my hand.
"We will make it work." I kiss her forehead. "I promise. That night we don't talk just cuddle before falling asleep.
