I just finished the last blues song I knew. What was I supposed to do! I couldn't repeat a song, that would be embarrassing. Instead, I faced the shame and stopped.

"What's the matter chicken, run out of song?" The guard teased, and I hung my head in shame.

"Yeah" I answered truthfully. I then took the walk of shame back to my bed. I looked longingly at the chute, wanting to escape. I wanted to see my ship blossom and set sail. Why did they have to look me up? I sat, and sat, and sat. Then I heard someone calling me.

"Cataleta!" I heard. It was Sapphie! She must have come to help Ike! Yeah, Sike! "CATALETA!" She called again.

"Here!" I called back. "How are you getting here?"

"I'm falling. I went though the 'Prisoners Only' box." Oh no! That was made for birds! She can't slow her fall!

"Be careful!" I thought back. I had to find a way to soften her fall. Think Cataleta, think. The bed! I started to push it under the chute as fast as I could. I had to hurry. Sapphie would probably fall any second. I pushed the bed with all my might, but I was too late. Sapphie crashed down from the chute and smacked her head on the railing of my bed before finishing the fall. I heard her bones crack, and then heard her scream. I looked over at her. Her left leg and arm where both bent at odd angles and there was a small cut on her head. She was bleeding from different places. Worst of all, her eyes where rolled to the back of her head, showing no proof there was ever any color there. Then I thought of something, what if she was dead! I ran over to her and checked her pulse. Luckily, there was still something there; it was faint, but there. I sighed in relief and got to work. I used my bed spread to make some makeshift bandages and casts. When I was done, I remembered someone; Ike!
