(My Pov)
A long time ago, there stood two great Tribes. One Tribe of fire whose dragons engulf the sky with their rage. The other Tribe of ice whose dragons froze the very ground they walked on.
The people of the Tribes used to get along with each other, but alas the people couldn't get over their differences, for fire and ice were just to different in their eyes. War broke out between the two, sadness and death filled the world around them.
The war between the two tribes went on for years. One generation after another were dragged into this everlasting fight, even more enraged than the last. Then just when the elders thought there was no hope for their people to ever get along, a little spark of hope rise from the ashes.
A women of ice and a man of fire met on an island halfway between the two clans. At first they were skeptical of each other but the more time the two spent together the deeper they feel in love with each other.
They would sneak off everyday to see each other, feeling hollow and empty when they didn't. The woman's family noticed her disappearances and had grown weary about their daughters whereabouts. With the times more dangerous than before, they wanted to make sure nothing happened to their children. As the woman left one day, her brother followed with a small group of men silently following behind incase they encountered any enemies.
On a small boat, the group followed the woman to an island where she quickly ran in the woods in search of something. The men hid behind trees as they watched the woman stop in the middle of the trees in wait. Soon enough, the brother found out why his sister was leaving so often. A man came through the trees towards the woman. She smiled and ran into his arms. The group of men watched as the man of fire and the woman of ice embraced each other.
The action of the two lovers enraged one of the men in the group. His heart was in the hands of the woman before him who embraced another. He felt any hope of them being together crumble to ashes knowing it was not him she would love. He started towards the two but the woman's brother stopped him before he could make a move, not wanted to risk his sister's safety and the safety of his tribe if they were to move now. He watched as the man from the fire tribe smiled brightly at his love, and carve a heart into a tree trunk near by.
"I love you and I'll always be with you. I don't care if we are from two different tribes. Fire and ice do go together even if some don't believe that." When the man leaned down to kiss the women, the envious man in hiding, broke out of the tree line and charged at his enemy. The men in the trees shouted and went after the him. Anger and pain consumed the man's thoughts as he pushed the unsuspecting man against the tree, ignoring the shouts and arms trying to pry him away. The startled woman fell to the ground as she was pulled away from her lover. She shouted at the man to stop as she scrambled to her feet and wrapped her arms around the arm holding a dagger. The man straight into the eyes of his enemy seeing the hint of fear in them before plunging his dagger into him.
When the others finally got him off the women's lover fell at his knees clutching his wound. The injured man shakily reached up searching for his lovers hand. Quickly, the women took it and fell to her knees, tears streaming down her face as she laid him down on the ground. The woman ran her fingers though the injured man's hair and leaned down to kiss him, murmuring that everything would be okay. The injured man smiled at her and gently squeezed her hand.
"Don't cry my love, I'll be with you forever like I promised." Those were his last words. The ice lady pushed her trembling lips against the dead man's forehead and whispered the word,
"Forever."
The women stayed with the man, even though he had died. No amount of convincing would make her leave him behind. People from both villages brought food and water to the grieving lady in hopes to help her a bit, but she didn't take any of it. Months passed and soon the women died still holding hands with her lover. The great Thor saw their love story and put them into the stars, to forever chasing each other. Legend has it that when the two lovers in the sky meet, the two will have found each other and have fallen in love again on Earth. It's their destiny.(Your pov)
(Age: 6)
I sat there in wonder as I listened to my grandmother's story. My dragons, Icebreaker and, Silver, paddled over to me and rested their tiny heads on my small lap.
"Grammy, is our clan one of the tribes from your story?" She smiles at me, before raising her hand and patting me on the head.
"What makes you think that my little snowflake?"
"Because, our tribe is in the north, so there is ice everywhere and the older dragons here can create ice whenever they take a step. If we're the ice tribe that makes, umm... Berk the fire tribe right?" I smile at my grandma, "Their the fire tribe because it's usually hot there except for the winters, and I heard from Papa they have angry dragons that spit fire."
"Maybe you're right snowflake." I get up carefully and climb up to my grandmother's lap.
"Grammy, when will we stop fighting with Berk?"
Grammy shook her head and pushed some of my blueish-(H/C) hair out of my face.
"I don't know sweetheart. Maybe when you're chief things will change." I give her a big toothy smile and ball my tiny hands into fists.
"I promise to be the best chief ever and to stop the mean fighting between us and Berk."
"Okay (Y/N), but you got to keep that promises." I nod and give Grammy a motivative look. Just then my mother comes down stairs.
"(Y/N), it's time for bed." I frown and jump off my grandmother's lap.
"No, I'm not tired yet. Sil, Ice, and I want to play some more." My dragons blink sleepily before nodding at my mother. I yawn and rub my (E/C) eyes as mommy picks me up.
"Well, you guys can play tomorrow."
"But, Papa's not home yet mommy. I wanted to see him before I go to sleep." I yawn again as my mother starts up the stairs with humming a song, with my dragons close at hand.
"Night my little snowflake." I heard from downstairs as Mommy walks into my bedroom.
She bathes and changed me into my pajamas before tucking me into bed. Still humming her song, Mommy kisses me on the cheek before pushing some of my hair off my forehead.
"It's time for the princess to sleep now isn't it." A voice said from my door way. My father comes up to my bed and gently kisses my mother before leaning down to kiss my forehead.
"Goodnight my sweet baby."
"Goodnight princess." My parents say before slowly walking out of my bedroom.
"Night Night Mommy and Papa. See you in the morning." They smile lightly before gently closing my door. The full moon's light spills into the room, lighting it up. Icebreaker and Silver climb into my bed and curl up next to me.
"Night, Sil, Ice. I love you." I say. They hum as if saying goodnight and I love you back. The dragons rub their faces against mine before falling asleep.
"Destiny, huh." I thought before falling into a sound sleep.Hey guys. I hope you liked the first chapter of my story, Destiny. I know that some people reading this may have icy blue hair and I'm sorry. You could always change the second color or just use you original hair color of you want (The blue will make sense in later chapters). I hope you continue reading.
