(Your Pov)
Darkness was all I saw as I walked around in a space of nothingness. The darkness seemed never ending as I walked trying to find a way out. The air around me felt suffocatingly dense and I walked further and further.
"There's no way out of here," I thought to myself, "What even is this place?" I looked around searching for anything to put together my broken memory.
"Hello!" I yelled out into the abyss, "Is anyone here? Can anyone hear me?" No response. I groan before plopping myself on the ground and rubbing my hand against my face.
"Of course no one heard you! There's no one here (Y/N)." I thought as I stood up again. I continue to walk though the darkness in hopes that I will find something to get me out of here or at least a clue on what this place is, but I came up short.
"How am I going to get back?" I whispered as I looked around the void, "How am I going to get back to you, Hiccup?"
"Is that who you really want to see?" A voice said from behind me. I jumped in place, twirling around to see who was talking to me. I put my hand on my hip, searching for my sword but then I remembered I had no weapons when I woke up here.
A woman with long, curly, dark blue hair and beautiful brown skin stood before me. I could see the happiness in her gray eyes as she smiled at me. The lady took a step towards but I quickly took a step back as she did. Her smile faltered at my actions but just as it did something clicked in her eyes and she chuckled to herself.
"I'm sorry I scared you. You don't need to worry. I'm here to help you, (Y/N)." I raise an eyebrow as she spoke.
"How do you know my name?" I asked taking another step back as she tried to approach again. Her smile got wider so I could see her pearly white teeth.
"Let's just say we have a very close connection, even though we haven't met before. My name is Lilith. It's great to finally meet you, although I wasn't expecting to meet you quite this soon." She said as she tapped her finger against her chin. I give her a questioning look as she spoke.
"What is this place? How do I get out?" I said in a demanding voice but Lilith just giggles at it.
"This," She gestured around us, "Is the place all souls come to when they're about to die." My heart stopped when I heard her words. When you're about to die? I'm going to die? "To get out however is a very difficult thing to say. Some don't get a choice on whether they live or not. Others do." I feel like my head is spinning. What if I don't have a choice? I'm not ready to die yet, I have things I still need to do in life.
"What happened to me?" I whispered. Lilith took a step closer and when she noticed I didn't shy away, she came closer and wrapped an arm around me.
"You were badly injured during a fight. Actually you saved someone. I think the boy's name is... Hiccup," I stiffened when I heard his name, "But don't worry my dear. I believe fate will bring you together again."
"I hope so." Lilith sat down on the ground and patted the spot next to her as a silent question. There was something familiar about this woman. It was like I had seen here before. I felt like I could trust her. I gave Lilith a small smile and push my hair behind my ear as sat down next to her.
"Tell me about Hiccup." She said, her dark blue curls bouncing with excitement. I gaze off as I think about him.
"Well, He's incredibly diligent and he cares not only for people but also dragons. He can be a a little aloof sometimes but," I look at Lilith, "I'm sorry, I'm not doing a good job of describing him am I?" Lilith shook her head in disagreement.
"No, I have an ideal of what he's like already. How does he make you feel?" She asked. The small smile I had on my face morphed into an even bigger one.
"When I'm with him I feel like I can fly, without my dragons of course," Lilith nudges me and giggles, "It... it just feels right you know. I feel like we've done this dance before."
      "Done it before?"
"I feel like we've done everything before. Every touch, every kiss, every goodbye. It's like we were just meant to be. We're from two rival villages. We weren't supposed to be together but it just felt like... if we weren't together I would be this happy." Lilith smiles and gazed off into the darkness surrounding us.
"Sound a lot like my relationship," She looks at me, "Minus the did it before part." I cock my head to the side.
      "How."
"I too fell in love with a man from Berk," She said, "We were made for each other but... he died." The smile she once had disappeared from her face and was replaced with a frown. "Now I'm trying to find him again." I look at her, remembering my grandmother's story. The stories were very similar.
"I'm sorry." Lilith looked at me and gave me a small smile.
"It's okay. It happened a long time ago."
"You know, your story sound very similar to my grandmothers." Lilith looked at me with confusion.
        "What's the story?" Lilith asked.
"A man from Berk and a woman from the IceCaps fell in love but were torn away from each other when a man killed the woman's lover. Now they're in the stars waiting till the day they can finally be together," I summarized the story, "I wonder if it's real." Lilith giggle as she listened.
"Oh the story is very real. It's my story." I jumped up from where I stood. I stared at Lilith in shock, unable to believe that the story was actually real.
"Your story!" She nodded, "Then how come you're here with me and not somewhere else in Valhalla trying to find the man from the story? Are you stuck here too?"
She stood up and put her hand in my head, smoothed the hair back. A light smile graced her face as she took my hand into hers.
"Honey, my lover and I moved on a long time ago. Every time we get close something keeps us apart. We hope in another life we'll find each other. When they finally can be together, so will we."
"If you aren't trapped here. How come you aren't helping your new lives get together." Lilith smiles and ran a hand through her curls.
"Because I want to help you make your choice." My heart swells with happiness as the words rolled off her lips. I have a choice to go home. I can become chief and help both the IceCaps and Berk. I can be with Hiccup again.
"Thank you so much!" I threw my arms around Lilith. She laughed and hugged back. Soon she pulled away and the atmosphere around us shifted almost immediately. The smile she once had on her face disappeared and was replaced with a serious look. She took my hand in her's and looked into my eyes with such intensity.
"You could go back to Hiccup, if that's what you desire most," She started, "Or you could cross over to Valhalla and be with your grandmother." My heart clenched when Lilith mentioned her. Seeing my grandmother again would be a dream come true but being able to be with Hiccup again seems like a once in a life time chance.
"So this is what you meant when you asked me if seeing Hiccup was what I really wanted," Lilith nodded, "And I can't pick both." I took a deep breath and sighed. Lilith places her hands on my shoulders, grabbing my attention again.
"I know it seems like a hard decision. But you know what you want deep down," She says, "Close your eyes and really think. When they opened your answer will be right in front of you." I nod and squeeze my eyes shut. Memories of my grandmother and Hiccup fill my mind as I concentrated on figuring out what I wanted most deep down.
"(Y/N). Open your eyes," Lilith murmured. I slowly opened my eyes and stared at a white door. I walked towards it, examining the exterior.
"Is this..."
"Your choice? Yes. Go through the door. Someone's waiting for you." I look at Lilith and give her one more hug.
"Thank you," She smiles at me, "You know I can't help but feel like we have met before. But I know that's impossible." Lilith shrugged her shoulders and pushed me towards the door. I took a deep breathe before opening the door. I took a step in and allowed the warm light to envelop me.

End of chapter 24! Yay! The story is almost done. Now all that's left is the Epilogue. Did (Y/N) go back to Hiccup? Or did she join her grandmother in Valhalla? The Epilogue is being worked on now and hopefully will be out sometime this weekend, the latest next week. Bye!
