"Chubby bunny." You tuck the gooey marshmallow into the back of your cheek, creating space for you. Cam's competitive spirit is getting to you.
"Okay," The interviewer starts up again. The creamy snacks you've been shoving in your mouth disguise the dull atmosphere of asking basic questions like 'how did you two meet?' 'how long have you been dating?' by simple research, she could find those out online. "So for the on-set kisses, did you two ever feel anything more?"
Cameron chooses a puffy treat from the large marshmallow bag, as if picking his favorite flower. He definitely chose the smallest one. "Chubby bunny." The words become slightly muffled.
"Well." You begin to recite the answer for a 5th or 6th time today. "Not really, because even though we're kissing each other, we're still playing different people, so the dynamics of the kiss are since the personalities of ourselves are different in the moment." You use your tongue to push the marshmallow back in it's spot, then pluck another into your mouth. "Chubby bunny."
"Cameron. Where did you take your lovely lady on your first date?"
He adjusts his mouth before talking, shoving the two large marshmallows into opposite corners of his mouth, looking like a wisdom teeth patient. Scanning his innocent face, taking his answer seriously is hard. You release a giggle.
"What?" He whips his head so fast, but not a strand of slicked back hair falls out of place.
"You just look ridiculous."
Out of the corner of your eye, you see the interviewer's small heels tapping impatiently.
Cameron laughs, exposing the white clouds hidden at his mollers.
"Eww." You shield your face to hide the grotesque sight.
"Look at yourself first." That must be the reason why he was laughing.
The tight-knit interviewer cuts in. "Alright, you two."
Your 20 second break is over.
"Rainforest Cafe, actually."
The interviewer tilts her head, intrigued.
"Yeah, she doesn't prefer fancy places, but she fits well in that environment. Anyways, it's this place that's set up like a rain forest, obviously, and you can sit down and have mediocre food with an excellent environment."
It's surprising he god that much out without spitting the marshmallow everywhere.
At the end of his sentence, you both reach for a third. Knowing his aim was for a particular marshmallow floating at the top of the bag, you race for that one. Your hand crashes into his and fights primitively for the chosen one. His long fingers puck one end while you're at the other and the marshmallow rips in half.
"I totally knew you were going for that one. That's why I grabbed it." You chuckle before plopping your half in your mouth.
"You.." Cameron pretends to be bitter with you. "Chubby bunny."
A half isn't enough. "Two more to speed the process up."
Cameron strategically mashes two more in his cheeks, along with yourself.
"Y/N. In the movie, Cameron is a brunette. Which hair do you prefer on him?"
"I like-" You struggle to speak, trying not to choke on the marshmallows battling their way to your throat.
So you don't have to finish the sentence, you expand your fingers, digging them into his scalp.
"Red hair?" She asks and you give a thumbs-up. "Cameron. Your relationship has come a long way. From being acquaintances, to dating for 6 months. What has been one big moment that stood out in your relationship thus far?"
Like a kid, you shove Cameron's arm, as if simply saying his name wouldn't get his attention. "One more."
"Chubby bunny." He says after using the pad of his thumb to shove one over his tongue. It's impossible to close your mouths. After your next marshmallow, you realize how dumb you two look.
"Y/djfie." You think he's trying to say your name. "Y/N." His voice is trapped behind the wall of marshmallows. "This moment." The words are hardly understandable.
The normally tasty treats are soaked in saliva, slipping to the back of your mouth. You reverse your tongue to press them to your front teeth or cheeks. Failing horribly, a large piece falls down your throat and your stomach drops in the sense that you'd just swallowed gum. By reflex, you gag, spilling half of your stockpile into the provided plastic bag.
A long string of marshmallow and spit drips from your mouth. The background noise fades back into focus and Cameron's laugh falls clearly into your ear. He holds his stomach, speaking gibberish. His head is dipped back, as if balancing a silver platter on his nose. Instead of a silver platter, he's balancing a wet, chunky, ball of marshmallows.
Cameron brings himself into a stable position, making a hand-hammock below his chin to prevent any spilling. "I-I said." He spouts out "I said this moment is big." The nearly formidable sentence confuses you. Yes, gagging out white chunks must be big.
His next words are entirely covered, blotted with the creamy cotton coating his mouth.
"Come again?" You giggle.
"I-" Jibberish.
"Cameron, good gracious." There's no reason to keep his mouth full now that he's won. You point at the interviewer who is grinning with you. "This is how I live. Nonsense." You share a laughing moment with her. This must've been her last question because even her posture has changed from crossed legs to slouching.
"I said I love you."
The clear, yet foreign sentence catches you off guard. The interviewer tightens her back up and straightens out her face.
The marshmallows are bulging from his lips and his doe eyes await a reaction.
You can't leave the helpless baby animal hanging. "I love you too."
You're left playing around in his green eyes, observing them flicker with joy. He's doing the same, switching from eye to eye.
"Sorry to interrupt. Is this the first time you've said your 'I love you's'?"
Clumps of pearly marshmallow fly from Cameron's lips. He frantically tears the plastic bag from your grip and chokes out the remaining food, as you once did. With Cameron coughing and heaving for air, you fill the room with your boisterous laughter, cackling at his expense.
Cameron wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, feebly catching the interviewer's glance. "Sure is. How romantic are we?"
