Chapter 9
Nick's POV
When school was finally over, I drove myself home.
When I got home I walked into my empty house. My parents died in a car accident 9 years ago when I was 8.
They were real bad people that made money off of selling god knows what to the black market.
That's pretty much all I knew about them.
They were never home, and when they were I would be locked in my room for the rest of the night regardless if I had eaten dinner or not.
I was living in my rich grandmothers house. She got alzheimer's a couple years back and is now in a home. She always cared for me so she still paid the house expenses.
I ran up to my room and plopped down on my bed.
Wow! I thought to myself. I cannot believe how much of an idiot I am for not seeing her.
I know "love at first sight" sounds real cliche but I've never felt like this before. I cant get those beautiful eyes out of my head.
I really hope she comes tonight!!
I got ready for Jason's party and headed over there.
When I got there I walked right in knowing he was home alone.
"Hey man!" I heard Jason call from the kitchen.
"The fridge is all stocked up with booze. If you finally change your mind, feel free dude."
I chuckled "No thanks man. I gotta drive home."
"Not if you get lucky with that one babe from school." Jason said while slapping my back.
I don't know why but that comment made me tense a little, and get a little excited down there (if you know what I mean).
What the hell has gotten into me?
I'm acting so strangely and I don't like it.
"Earth to Nick?" I heard jason say while waving his hand in front of my face.
"Sorry man, Spaced out for a second."
"Damn dude. You already thinking about it?" "Hey if you guys get together you think you can hook me up with that blondie she was with? She was pretty cute." Jason said way faster than he should have.
He was probably excited about the party.
I know I was.
We decided to start getting the house ready for tonight (locking all the breakables in Jason's bedroom, moving furniture for the "dance floor", setting out food, getting music and speakers ready, etc.)
Finally. 9:30.
The party is about to start.
Only half an hour and this could be the night that changes my life.
Or it couldn't...
