Recap:

“No I don’t want to bring you in to this. Stay and finish your shake,” she commanded me. Not wanting to cause any more trouble for her, I stayed put and watched as she ran out the door.

“Ugh what is wrong with today?! I just want a job!”

“Well than you got one!” A nice older brunette said from behind me, in her pink old styled uniform.

“I’m sorry… what?”

“I’ve been looking for a replacement, since I just fired this girl, a sweet girl, but she never showed up on time. You don’t need experience you’ll catch on fast. Just show up on time and you got the job!”

“Um….wow… Thanks! Err umm..” I said, pathetically, my words failing my completely.

“Lynette,”

“Thanks Lynette! When can I start?”

“Right now,” she said, “I’ll teach yah the ropes right now.”

“Um..okay,” I said, shrugging, as she dropped a matching uniform in my lap.

Chapter 11

"Mom?" I asked. She was wearing a long, white coat. Her auburn hair peeking out from underneath the hood. "What are you doing here?" I asked. She only smiled and held her hand out towards me as her response. I timidly touched her hand, afraid she was only a dream and my hand would slip right through her. My eyes grew wider, and my smile bigger, when my hand met with a warm one.

My surrounding blurred around me until we were transported to out in front of the P.E. lockers at school. Luke was rushing out of the lockers, a little panicky looking. Jason followed behind him, grabbing Luke's shoulder and giving him a hard glare .

"I'm going to need you to do something different for me," Jason's voice seemed cold and blank.

I get it this was a flashback of a few days ago. I saw my actual self, hiding behind the locker room wall, trying to make out the words they were saying. At the time I couldn't hear them, but now in this flashback, I could hear every word ring perfectly in my ears.

"See I went and got Isa for myself, since you were taking too long. I've decided to take matters in to my own hands," Luke's face was blank and he aimlessly stared back at Jason as he talked, "I took care of your job, now I'm going to need you to back off. Forget your feelings for her. Forget them and back off. And from now on you're going to act like your normal player self, and you are never to speak a word of this conversation to anyone," He continued.

"No," Luke whispered softly, taking a step backward.

"Forget them and back off!" Jason urged on. I saw my actual self take a step out of my hiding place as Jason's head snapped up soon after.

            "Hey guys," my self said.

            "Hey, Isa," they said casually.

I was so confused. My head was dizzy, my breathing felt constricted, and a bad feeling tugged inside of me.

"Mom? I don't understand. What job is Jason talking about and why does it involve me? And how the hell does this involve Luke!?"

"He's being put in a trance, Isa. Don't blame this on Luke. If anything, it's Jason you should be worried about," her words flowed through the thin air.
