A/N: Hey guys, so I'm going on a trip and won't have internet access. I won't be able to upload untill beginning of January. I'm soooo sorry!!! But I will keep writing since I don't need the internet to write the story.
Also, I'm carefully planning out each chapter, so keep up! Because HUGE hints are being dropped in the past chapters/ in the next chapters as well. But don't worry, it'll will soon all start to make since that this story is not just about a regular teen, but about a girl who isn't normal! Without further adoo!
Chapter 5
"Put me down!" I screamed. Flailing my arms and legs like a little kid. "I need to go get my Dad!"
"Isa, calm down. Your Dad isn't in there!" a low voice told me. I recognized that voice.
"Luke?! Where the hell is he?" I shouted. I heard a faint beep in the distance. I could see Emi's worried eyes as she followed behind Luke.
"Get in," he spoke. Emi walked off somewhere where I couldn't see. Luke's tall build was blocking my view, so I didn't know where she walked off to.
"Get in where?!" I screamed. "Stop fooling around and tell me where the hell my dad is!"
"I'll tell you if you just calm down and promise not to run towards the fire blazing death trap, again!" he shouted back. I stopped flailing my arms and legs everywhere, and stood still. Suddenly, he began lowering me down. I felt my body be put on something soft and looked around to find myself in his car. Before I knew it, he was on the other side putting the keys in to the ignition. I opened my mouth to say something but Luke beat me to it.
"Before you open your mouth," he started, as he began driving, "you're Dad had to go to the hospital for smoke inhalation. But the paramedic said it didn't look that serious." His tone of voice was cold and blank with little care in it at all. His bright green eyes dull and blank as they stared at the road in front of him.
"You forgot this in my car this morning," he said, handing me my textbook, while keeping his eyes on the road, "I'd thought that I'd come return it. When I got to your house, I saw something burning and when I got inside there was a lot of smoke. I saw your dad, laying of the ground passed out. I grabbed him as fast as I could and called the firefighters." He said simply in that same blank voice. That's when I noticed Emi sitting in the back seat, attentively listening to everything.
"Oh…. Thank you," I whispered looking down at my now wet clothes. Luke was wet to from the rain, his hair was all messed up in that I-just-took-a-shower way and his wet clothes clung to his muscles. The car stopped moving as he put it in park.
"No problem," he said, turning to me. A genuine smile made its way on to his lips and his eye shined bright green for a moment, but his smile soon faded away as his eyes quickly moved back to being cloudy. What's wrong with him? I thought to myself. We got out of the car and I ran up to the lady behind the desk.
"Visiting hours are over, maam. Please ----," she began. Her small almond eyes staring at me.
"I'm family….I'm looking for Joe Formatis," I interrupted her.
"Oh, I'm sorry, my mistake," she said, looking back down at her computer, "he is in Room 102."
"Thanks!" I said, as I ran off with Luke and Emi following me. 102, 102, 102, why does that sound familiar, I thought to myself. I counted the numbers down to Room 102, coming to a complete stop as I rounded the corner to Room 102. I expected to see my Dad laying there but all I saw was her.
